7-26-55- MFP THIS HIS Volume, which the Editor now respectfully prefents to her kind Subfcribers in particular, and to the Public in general, contains very nearly the whole of what she could collect from amongst the papers of her deceased Aunt, in any degree fit for publication, and more perhaps than by choice she would have published, was she not perfuaded that this fmall Collection will fall into the hands of few readers, but fuch as have patronized and promoted her undertaking through regard to the memory of the amiable Author. All, to whom the virtues of her character were known, will be candidly difpofed to excufe any trivial errors in her compofition. She never held herself up as a writer: when the resorted to her pen, it was either to amuse a leifure hour, to gratify an abfent friend, or for the fublimer purpose of pouring out her heart in praises and thanksgivings to her God.
