eth, Thou shalt see greater things than these.

O mercifully grant, that I, who now with all the children of Thy bounty praise Thee Invisible within the Temple of that Holy Church of which the blessed Apostle is a pillar, may be so nourished by the grace of Thy Sacrament_that_my_heart may be assured before Thee in that Day when shall be open Vision,-when, O very mystery of mysteries,-all Thy faithful ones shall receive the sacred crown of Thy Praise.

Saint Matthew the Apostle

BLESSED Lord, our God, we thank Thee for holy Saint Matthew, Thine own true gift. Lord, plead with me, lest I forget how Thy loving eyes are ever upon me, quicken me to hear Thy Voice that saith evermore from the excellent glory, Come ye after me. O make me to go

in the way of that command, for therein is my desire.

Saint Michael and all Angels

LIGHT of, Angels, our only Light, O Lord my Saviour, mercifully grant that as the holy Angels of Thy Presence hearken

to Thy Voice, and fulfil Thy Commandments, I may walk in the way of Thy Commandments, not of constraint but willingly, hearkening unto Thy Voice that giveth power unto the faint, strengthened by the Angels' Food, Thou hast now given me, O Wonderful, now in countless sanctuaries the strong consolation of Thy Redeemed. . . . Ö mercifully grant, that as of old those helpful Powers of immortal sympathy tendered to Thy Sacred Humanity their loving and unbidden service, I Day_minister,--O longed-for, only bliss!-to Thy members yet upon earth, for Thy great Love's sake.

Saint Luke the Evangelist

LESSED be Thou, O Blessed One, most merciful and compassionate, for Saint Luke, the loved Physician of the soul, the Gentiles' dear Evangelist.

Let Thy Love, O Crucified Love, so constrain me to succour the suffering_members of Thy Mystical Body, that I may have part with those who ministered to Thee Visible, gentle Lord, robed in Thy kingly humility, with one who wept precious tears of her heart on Feet soon pierced for her sin, with one who poured her very costly ointment on Thy sacred Head, O Thou Anointed of God, with those who

laboured with Apostles in Thy glorious Gospel in Whom all are one, with those who still by faith see Thee, and leave all to follow Thee,-yea, in their glad ministry who alway behold the Face of Thy Father in Heaven.

Saint Simon and Saint Jude

WE for Thy blessed Apostles Saint Simon

E praise Thee, O God, our Saviour,

and Saint Jude, who walked in Thy Spirit, who followed in Thy steps, who live and reign with Thee for evermore. Their heavy cross seemed light for the love they bore Thee, O Sovereign of willing souls,--the wounding thorns were unheeded, the lacerating scourge unfelt, as in untold pain of martyrdom they rendered up to Thee the charge Thy Love had given.

What shall we say unto Thee for these, O Thou Restorer of men? Behold, our words become tears, grant that our tears may become deeds.

Mercifully grant me, O Lord, to continue stedfastly in Thy Apostles' blessed fellowship, and in breaking of the Bread of Thy Love, and in prayers.

All Saints

THOU, Who once didst agonize beneath created hands, O adorable Monarch, of Whom the world is not worthy, O Holy Jesus, the King of the Saints, mercifully grant me so to follow the patience of their examples who are in peace with Thee, that when mine hour cometh, Thou mayest call me and bid me come to Thee, that with all the blessed children of Thy Father, I may praise Thee continually, yea, for ever and ever, O Lord, my Lord, O God, my Saviour, O Sacred Heart that so passionately loved our peace.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be; world without end. Amen.

COMMEMORATION OF A FRIEND

Peace, peace to them that are near, and to them that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

REAT God of Peace, Who in Thy great Love hast given Thy Dearest for us, we thank Thee, O Father of Spirits, Lord of Life and Death, that Thou hast taken our dear one unto Thyself.

O Heavenly Father, grant us Thy comfort, Thou knowest we have need.

O Sovereign of souls, grant us, by Thy Grace that bringeth salvation, so to follow his good example, that we may all meet him again in the better country of our desire; and go in together to that Temple made without hands, whither the Forerunner for us hath entered, even our Saviour, Christ the Lord.

By the Prayer thrice heard of Thee alone, by the strong crying, by the silence of the broken Heart of Love, by the Death we now remember,

Heavenly Father, hear us.

Blessed be the Name of Thy Majesty, O Lord, Father of our Lord, Thou hast taught us how great is the peace of Thy sleeping children, how sweet their rest with the first-born, Thy Best beloved, with Whom is
