faith and fear; beseeching Thee to give. us grace so to follow their good examples, that with them we may be partakers of Thy heavenly kingdom: Grant this, O Father, for Jesus Christ's sake, our only Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

While Non-Communicants are leaving the
Church.

O Merciful Lord Jesu, look upon me in Thy goodness; incline Thine Ear unto me and hear me. I am poor and needy, yet the Lord careth for me. Strengthen my sin-wearied soul, O Thou Who art the Bread of Life. My soul waiteth for Thee, my heart longeth after Thee; O send me not away fasting, full surely to faint by the

way.

My soul is sick, O be Thou pleased to make me whole; hungry and thirsty, O do Thou feed me; my King, my Friend, my Guide, my Comforter.

O send forth Thy Light and Thy Truth, that they may lead me, and bring me unto the Altar of God, even the God of my joy and gladness; there will I praise Thee, O God, my God, with joyful lips; there shall I be satisfied with the plenteousness of Thy Father's House. For with Thee is the well of life, and in Thy Light shall I see light, Amen.

O Faithful and True, Strong and Patient, full of Wisdom, perfect in Beauty, Great in Counsel, Mighty in Work, O Divine Intercessor, in remembrance of Thy boundless mercies, once more I entreat Thee for those to whom Thou hast bound me by the sure ties of a love Thyself hast taught me. Thine are they and mine, and I pray that their faith fail not. I pray Thee to have respect unto the sighing, the ceaseless, unspeakable longing of Thy Church: to behold the wrongs and desolations of Thy world: to look in Thine infinite compassion on all lying in spiritual darkness,-sightless, are these, with how mournful a blindness, poor, good Lord, with how deep a poverty, sad, with how desolate a sorrow!

Jesu, Master, have mercy on all.

[And now I come to Thee, on this Day Thou hast made, this holy Day whereon we commemorate that glorious deed of power on the third morning-even the Rising of the uncreated Sun. Most blessed Dayonce only passed in sorrow, when Thy dear friends saw Thee not,-but ever since full of joy for every loving soul.]

To be used at a Sunday Celebration.

In remembrance of Thy vivifying Death, I come to receive the broken Bread, the communication of Thy Body, the outpoured Wine, the communication of Thy Blood,-the sacred Symbols and the Mys

terious Grace Thou, O God, hast joined together in Thy Sacrament.

I come to yield myself up to Thee, to lay my hands in Thy tender, outstretched helping Hands of Love, trusting that Thou wilt bring me out of my necessities, even unto the end of my being, even unto the glorious land. There wilt Thou cleanse this body of humiliation by Thy Body of Glory-there the spirit, now filled with fears, will cease to tremble; there the soul, now torn with agony, and consumed with passionate sorrow, will be in perfect peace, for it will wholly love.

Ah never, good Lord my Refuge, let me deliberately doubt the Grace and Power of this mighty Sacrament, this crowning mercy of Thy Sacred Passion, this Thy divinest Gift for men.

With lowliest thanks, O loving Father, I plead the infinite Merits of Thy Christ: His Death, my life-His Resurrection, my one unfailing source of pure delight, my one glorious hope for the life that now is, and for that which is to come: for His dear Sake, I pray Thee hear me now. Amen.

At the time of the celebration of the Communion, the Communicants being conveniently placed for the receiving of the holy Sacrament, the Priest shall say this Exhortation.

D'

EARLY beloved in the Lord, ye that mind to come to the holy Communion of the Body and Blood of our Saviour Christ, must consider how St. Paul exhorteth all persons diligently to try and examine themselves, before they presume to eat of that Bread, and drink of that Cup. For as the benefit is great, if with a true penitent heart and lively faith we receive that holy Sacrament; (for then we spiritually eat the flesh of Christ, and drink His blood; then we dwell in Christ, and Christ in us; we are one with Christ, and Christ with us;) so is the danger great, if we receive the same unworthily. For then we are guilty of the Body and Blood of Christ our Saviour; we eat and drink our own damnation, not considering the Lord's Body; we kindle God's wrath against us; we provoke Him to plague us with divers diseases, and sundry kinds of death. Judge therefore yourselves, brethren, that ye be not judged of the Lord; repent you truly for your sins past; have a lively and stedfast faith in Christ our Saviour; amend your lives, and be in perfect charity with all men; so shall

F

ye be meet partakers of those holy mysteries. And above all things ye must give most humble and hearty thanks to God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, for the redemption of the world by the death and passion of our Saviour Christ, both God and man; Who did humble Himself, even to the death upon the Cross, for us, miserable sinners, who lay in darkness and the shadow of death, that He might make us the children of God, and exalt us to everlasting life. And to the end that we should alway remember the exceeding great love of our Master, and only Saviour, Jesus Christ, thus dying for us, and the innumerable benefits which by His precious bloodshedding He hath obtained to us; He hath instituted and ordained holy mysteries, as pledges of His love, and for a continual remembrance of His death, to our great and endless comfort.

To Him therefore with the Father and the Holy Ghost, let us give (as we are most bounden) continual thanks; submitting ourselves wholly to His holy will and pleasure, and studying to serve Him
