which thou haft replenished it. For when the Earth was without Form, and void, and Darkness was upon the Face of the Deep, Thou didst put the Abyfs into Motion, and prepare it for Separation: Then thou faidft, Let there be Light, and there was Light; and Thou didst feparate the Light from the Darknefs, and didft call the Light, DAY, and the Darknefs, NIGHT, and didft appoint the one for Labor, and the other for Repofe.

P. Glory be unto Thee, O Lord, who haft formed the Light, and created Darknels, who commandeft the Morning, and causeft the Day-spring to know it's Place.

M. The Day is thine, the Night alfo is Thine; thou makeft the Outgoings of the Morning and of the Evening to rejoice.

P. These thy firft Day's Works fhall ever blefs thee: Day unto Day fhall record thy Name, Night unto Night fhall tranfmit thy Praise.

M. On the Second Day, Thou didfe feparate the Air, and appoint it to be a Firmament, in the Midft of the Waters, to divide the Waters which are Second Day.

and it was fo; and Thou didst name the vaft Expanfe, HEAVEN.

P. The Heavens declare thy Glory, O God, and the Firmament fheweth thy handy Work.

M. Let the Heavens práife thee, and the Waters which are above the Heavens; for Thou commandedst, and they were created: The Meteors of the Air, and the Balancings of the Clouds are thy wondrous Works, O Thou, who art perfect in Knowledge.

P. Thou makeft the Clouds thy Chariots, and walkeft upon the Wings of the Wind.

And when thou hadft prepared the Earth and the dry Land, thou didst cloath it with Grafs, and beautifie it with Flowers and Plants, and Trees, enriching them with Seeds for the propagating of their feveral kinds unto all fucceeding times.

P. The Earth, O Lord, is thine, and the Fulness thereof; Thou haft founded it upon the Seas, and eftablish'd it upon the Floods.

M. Thou gathereft the Waters of the Sea together as an Heap, and layeft up the Depth as in Storehouses.

P. Thou watereft the Hills from thy Chambers; the Earth is fatisfied with the Fruit of thy Works.

M. On the Fourth Day,Thou faidft, Let there be Lights in the Firmament of Heaven, to give Light upon the Earth; and it was fo: and Thou didst make Fourth Day. two great Lights, the greater Light to rule the Day, and the leffer Light to rule the Night. Thou madeft the Stars alfo, and didft appoint the various Revolutions of the heavenly Bodies, for the measuring of Days and Months and Years, and for producing the grateful returns of Day and Night, Summer and Winter, Seed-time and Harveft throughout all Generations.

P. Great and marvellous are thy Works, O Lord God Almighty; Thou haft made Heaven, and the Heaven of Heavens, with all their Hofts, and Thou preservest them all.

M. Praife ye the Lord from the Heavens, praife him in the Heights, praise him Sun and Moon, praise him all 1 ye Stars of Light.

P. For by the Word of the Lord were the Heavens made, and all the Hofts of them by the Breath of his Mouth.

M. On the Fifth Day, Thou faidft, Let the Waters bring forth abundantly the moving Creature that hath

P. The Earth, O Lord, is full of thy Riches, fo is the great and wide Sea, wherein are creeping Things innumerable, both small and great.

M. There go the Ships, and there is that Leviathan, which Thou haft made to play therein.

P. They that go down to the Sea in Ships, and do bufinefs in the great Waters, Thefe fee thy Works, O Lord, and thy Wonders in the Deep.

M. On the Sixth Day, Thou faidft, Let the Earth bring forth the living Creature after his kind; and it was fo and Thou didst make the Beasts of Sixth Day. the Earth, and Cattle and every creeping thing after it's kind: and when thou hadst finished them, behold every thing was good. But there were yet wanting on the Earth, Creatures capable of contemplating thy glorious Works, and of offering up unto Thee fuitable Adorations and Praises; and therefore Thou didft create MAN, after thine own Image, and didft endue him with Reason and Understanding. And because Solitude was not agreeable to the Nature Thou hadft given him, Thou didst form a WOMAN, with the like Faculties, of his Bone and of his Flesh, to be a fit Companion for him and Thou didft blefs them, faying, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the Earth, and fubdue it, and have dominion over the Fish of the Sea, and over the Fowl of the Air, and over every living Thing that moveth upon the Face of the Earth.

P. O Lord, how manifold are thy Works, in Wisdom haft Thou made them all!

M. Thou art worthy, O God, to receive Glory, and Honor, and Power; for Thou haft created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

P. Bless the Lord all his Works, in all Places of his Dominions; blefs the Lord, O my Soul.
