17. And these fhewed his Tokens among them, and Wonders in the Land of Ham.

18. He fent Darknefs, and it was dark; and they were. not obedient unto his Word.

19. He turned their Waters into Blood, and flew their Fish: their Land brought forth Frogs in Abundance, yea, even in their King's Chambers.

20. He fpake the Word, and there came all Manner of Flies, and Lice in all their Quarters.

21. He gave them Hail-ftones for Rain, and Flames of Fire in their Land.

22. He fmote their Vines alfo and Fig-trees, and deftroyed the Trees that were in their Coafts.

23. He fpake the Word, and the Grasshoppers came, and Caterpillars innumerable, and did eat up all the Herbs. in their Land, and devoured the Fruit of their Ground.

24. He fmote all the firft-born in their Land, even the Chief of all their Strength.

25. He brought them forth alfo with Silver and Gold; there was not one feeble Perfon among their Tribes.

26. Egypt was glad at their departing, for they were afraid of them.

27. He fpread out a Cloud to be a Covering, and Fire to give Light in the Night-feafon.

28. At their Defire He brought Quails, and He filled them with the Bread of Heaven.

29. He opened the Rock of Stone, and the Waters flowed out, fo that Rivers ran in the dry Places.

30. For why? He remembered his holy Promife, and Abraham his Servant : and He brought forth his People with, Joy, and his Chofen with Gladness;

31. And gave them the Lands of the Heathen, and they took the Labors of the People in Poffeffion, that they might. keep his Statutes, and obferve his Laws.Praife ye the Lord.

32 BLESSED BE GOD, even the Father of our Lord, Jefus Chrift, the Father of Mercies, and the God of all Comfort. Amen. (2 Cor. i. 3.).

and his Mercy endureth for ever. (Pf. cvi.) 2. Who can exprefs the noble Acts of the Lord, or fhew forth all his Praife?

3. Bleffed are they that always keep Judgement, and do Righteoufnefs.

4. Remember me, O Lord, according to the Favor that Thou beareft unto thy People.

5. O vifit me with thy Salvation, that I may fee the Felicity of thy Chofen, and rejoice in the Gladness of thy People, and give Thanks with thine Inheritance.

6. We have finned with our Fathers, we have done amifs, and dealt wickedly.

7. Our Fathers regarded not thy Wonders in Egypt, neither kept they the Multitude of thy Mercies in Remembrance, but were difobedient at the Sea, even at the red Sea.

8. Nevertheless He helped them for his Name's-fake, that He might make his mighty Power to be known.

9. He rebuked the red Sea alfo, and it was dried up; fo He led them through the Deep, as through a Wilderness. 10. And He faved them from the Adverfaries' Hand, and delivered them from the Hand of the Enemy.

11. As for thofe that troubled them, the Waters overwhelmed them; there was not One of them left.

12. Then believed they his Words, and fang Praise unto Him.

13. But within a while they forgat his Works, and would not abide his Counfel; but Luft came upon them in the Wilderness, and they tempted God in the Defart.

14. And He gave them their Defire, and fent Leanness withal into their Soul: they angered Mofes alfo in their Camp, and Aaron the Saint of the Lord.

15. So the Earth opened, and fwallowed up Dathan, and covered the Congregation of Abiram: and a Fire was kindled in their Company; the Flame burnt up the Ungodly.

16. They made a Calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten Image: thus they turned their Glory into the Similitude of a Calf, that eateth Grafs,

17. And they forgat God their Savior, who had done for great Things in Egypt, wond'rous Works in the Land of Ham, and terrible Things by the red Sea.

18. Therefore

18. Therefore He faid He would have deftroyed them, had not Mofes his chofen ftood before Him in the Gap, to turn away his wrathful Indignation, left He should destroy

them.

19. Yea, they defpifed that pleafant Land, and gave no Credence unto his Word; but murmured in their Tents, and hearkened not unto the Voice of the Lord.

20. Then lift He up his Hand against them, to overthrow them in the Wilderness, to caft out their Seed among the Nations, and to fcatter them in the Lands.

21. They joined themselves alfo unto Baal-Peor, and ate the Sacrifices of the dead. Thus they provoked him to Anger with their own Inventions, and the Plague broke among them.

in

22. Then ftood up Phinehas and prayed; and fo the Plague ceased and that was counted unto him for Righteoufness, among all Generations for evermore."

23. They angered Him alfo at the Waters of Strife, so that He punished Mofes for their Sakes, because they provoked his Spirit, fo that he fpake unadvisedly with his Lips,

24. Neither destroyed they the Nations, as the Lord commanded them; but were mingled among the Heathen, and learned their Work:

25. Infomuch that they worshipped their Idols, which were a Snare unto them: yea, they facrificed their Sons and their Daughters unto Devils, and fhed innocent Blood, even the Blood of their Sons and their Daughters, whom they offered unto the Idols of Canaan, and the Land was defiled with Blood.

26. Thus were they ftained with their own Works, and went a whoring with their own Inventions.

27. Therefore was the Wrath of the Lord kindled against his People, infomuch that He abhorred his own Inheritance. 28. And He gave them over into the Hand of the Heathen, and they that hated them were Lords over them.

29. Their Enemies alfo oppreffed them, and had them in Subjection.

30. Many Times did He deliver them, but they rebelled against Him with their own Inventions, and were brought low for their Wickedness.

31. Nevertheless when He faw their Adverfity, He heard their Complaint; He thought upon his Covenant and pitied

them

them, according unto the Multitude of his Mercies; yea, He made All those, that led them away captive, to pity them.

32. Deliver us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the Heathen, that we may give Thanks unto thy holy Name, and triumph in thy Praise.

33. Bleffed be the Lord God of Ifrael from everlafting to everlafting and let all the People fay, Amen.

34. Amen.

2. Let Them giveThanks, whom the Lord hath redeemed, and delivered from the Hand of the Enemy, and ga thered them out of the Lands, from the Eaft and from the Weft, from the North and from the South.

3. They wandered in the Wilderness in a folitary Way, and found no City to dwell in; hungry and thirsty, their Soul fainted in them.

4. Then they cried unto the Lord in their Trouble, and He delivered them from their Diftrefs:

5. He led them forth by the right Way, that they might' go to the City of their Habitation.

6. O that Men would therefore praise the Lord for his Goodness, and declare the Wonders that He doeth for the Children of Men.

7. ForHe fatisfieth the longing Soul, and filleth the hungry. Soul with Goodness; fuch as fit in Darkness, and in the Shadow of Death, being faft bound in Affliction and Iron.

8. Because they rebelled against the Words of the Lord, and lightly regarded the Counfel of the most High, thereforeHe brought down their Heart through Heavinefs; they fell down, and there was None to help them.

9. Then when they cried unto the Lord in their Trouble, He delivered them out of their Diftreffes.

10. For He brought them out of Darkness, and out of the Shadow of Death, and brake their Bonds in funder.

11. O that Men would therefore praise the Lord for his Goodness, and declare the Wonders that He doeth for the Children of Men.

12. For He hath broken the Gates of Brafs, and cut the Bars of Iron in funder.

13. Foolish

13. Foolish Men are plagued for their Offence, and because of their Wickedness; their Soul abhorred all Manner of Meat, and they were even hard at Death's Door.

14. So when they cried unto the Lord in their Trouble, He delivered them out of their Diftrefs.

15. He fent his Word and healed them, and they were faved from their Destruction.

16. O that Men would therefore praife the Lord for his Goodness, and declare the Wonders that He doeth for the Children of Men; that they would offer unto Him the Sacrifice of Thanksgiving, and declare his Works with Gladnefs.

17. They that go down to the Sea in Ships, and occupy their Business in great Waters; these Men fee the Works of the Lord, and his Wonders in the Deep.

18. For at his Word the ftormy Wind arifeth, which lifteth up the Waves thereof.

19. They are carried up to the Heaven, and down again to the Deep; their Soul melteth away, because of the Trouble; they reel to and fro, and ftagger like a drunken Man, and are at their Wit's End.

20. Then when they cry unto the Lord in their Trouble, He delivereth them out of their Diftrefs:

21. For He maketh the Storm to ceafe, so that the Waves thereof are ftill.

22. Then are they glad, because they are at Reft, and fo He bringeth them unto the Haven where they would be.

23. O that Men would therefore praise the Lord for his Goodness, and declare the Wonders that He doeth for the Children of Men! that they would exalt Him alfo in the Congregation of the People, and praise Him in the Affembly of the Elders!

24. Who turneth the Rivers into a Wilderness, and drieth up the Water-Springs.

25. A fruitful Land maketh He barren, for the Wickedness of them that dwell therein.

26. Again, He maketh the Wilderness a flanding Water, and Water-Springs of a dry Ground.

27. And there He fetteth the hungry, that they may build them a City to dwell in ; that they may fow their Land, and plant Vineyards, which may yield them Fruits of Encrease.
