THOU God of the Spirits of all Flesh, who haft made of one Blood the Nations of Men to dwell on the Face of the Earth; We would enlarge our Petitions for the whole Race of Mankind, that they may all come to the Knowledge of the Truth as it is in Jefus, and that thy Ways may be known upon the Ends of the Earth; that the Gospel of Chrift thy Son may be abundantly fpread and promoted in it's own native Purity and Simplicity, throughout the World, and many Souls may be thereby daily added to thy Church, as fhall -be faved in the Day of Grace and Judgement. May thy Kingdom come, may true Chriftianity univerfally prevail, and may Jews and Gentiles, Turks and Infidels, be all united under one Shepherd, even our Lord Jefus Chrift, Whom to know is Life eternal. How long, O Lord holy and true, fhall the Faith once delivered to the Saints, in Truth and Purity, be perverted and corrupted by human Inventions, and thy holy Laws be made void by vain and groundlefs Traditions? Arife, O God, and plead thine own Cause againft all Idolatry, Superftition, Wickednefs, and Impofition upon Confcience : Put a fpeedy End to the Miferies and Calamities of this lower World, occafioned by the reftlefs Pride and Ambition of ungodly Rulers, that the Peace and Happinefs of human Society may no longer be disturbed by the inferior Government of Men: Let Nation no longer contend against Nation, neither let them war any more; but let there be Abundance of Peace in the Earth, as long as the Sun and Moon fhall endure : And honor with particular Marks of thy Favor all Kings and Governors, who fhew a juft Regard to the Rights of Mankind, and make it, their conftant fincere Endeavor to answer the true Ends of their Inftitution.

Look

Look down in much Mercy, We befeech Thee, upon thele Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland, and all the Dominions thereunto belonging; pardon our national crying Sins, and avert from us the Judgements our Iniquities may have deserved; let thine Eye be ever upon us for Good, from the Beginning of the Year unto the End thereof, that under thy Protection We may be a holy and happy People. Preferve us from Storms and Earthquakes, from War, Sedition and Tumults, from Sicknefs, Plague and Famine; and grant that the Enjoyment of our civil and religious Liberties may be effectually fecured to Us, and tranfmitted to our latest Pofterity; and may thefe our invaluable Privileges be established upon the fure Foundations of Religion and Virtue, that God, seven our own God, may blefs us, and rejoice over us to do us Good.

In an especial Manner, we pray Thee to preferve and blefs our rightful Sovereign King GEORGE; prolong his Life for the Good of these Nations, give him Wildom and Understanding from above, direct his Counfels, profper him in all his righteous Undertakings, and defend him from the evil Defigns of his Enemies, that his Reign over us may be long and glorious, happy to himself and to all his People. And whenever it shall please Thee to remove him hence, may he be found worthy to obtain an eternal Crown of Glory. And may We and all his Subjects love and chearfully obey him, be faithful to him, and render him that Duty and Honor, which is fo juftly his Due, ofere

We pray also that thy Grace and Benediction may defcend upon her Royal Highness the PRINCESS Dowager of Wales, and all the ROYALFAMILY; may they be bleffed with Health and long Life, with Peace and Profperity; [may They be Ornaments to their illuftrious Stations, qualified for extenfive Usefulness, and eminent Bleffings to thefe Lands :] guide them with thy Counfels here upon Earth, and afterwards receive them into thine everlafting Kingdom.

Direct all our Judges and Magiftrates in the due Discharge of their respective Offices, that they may be a Terror to evil Doers, and a Praife and Encouragement to them that do well and may they judge

others,

others, as knowing that they themselves must short ly appear at thy Bar, and abide thy righteous Judge

ment.

May all the Minifters of thy Word have Grace of Thee to be faithful, and by the Holiness of their Lives, and the Excellency of their Doctrines may they be fuccessful in turning Sinners from their ev Ways, and abundantly promote the Knowledge of the pure Gol pel of Jefus Chrift.

Blefs all our Friends and Relations, reward our Be nefactors, and forgive our Enemies,

And, O moft gracious and merciful God, the Father and Friend of Mankind, We prefent our Supplications unto Thee for All that are any Ways afflicted or diftreffed, whether in Mind, Body or outward Circumstan. ces, (especially Thefe for whom our Prayers are defired;} that it may please Thee to give them Patience under their Sufferings, and in thy good time a happy Deliverance out of them. Plead Thou the Cause of the Fatherlefs and Widow, provide for the poor and needy, give Eafe to fuch as are in Pain, restore Health to the fick, help fuch as are in Danger, deliver them that are tempted, fatisfic the doub.ing, relieve those who are under any Diftrefs or Trouble of Mind, and in the Multitude of their Thoughts within them, let thy Comforts delight their Souls. Support and ftrengthen all thofe, who are in any manner perfecuted or oppreffed for Righteoutnefs' fake, enable them to be fteady in their Duty and Obedience to Thee, and grant that the Trial of their Faith may be found unto Praife and Honor and Glory, at the Appearing of Jefus Chrift-Be with fuch as are draw ing nigh to the Gates of Death, and when affaulted by their laft Enemy, be Thou, O eternal God, their Refuge, and let thine everlafting Arms be underneath them.

And may Every one of Us thy Servants here prefent, in our feveral Stations, cultivate kind and compaffionate Difpofitions, and learn to be patient, under whatever Troubles or Difficulties thy Providence thinks fit to try us with, humbling ourselves before Thee, and chearfully refigning ourselves to thy Will, in full Affurance of thy fatherly Care for us; that fo in due Time we may reap, if we faint not.

These

Thefe our Prayers and Supplications We humbly offer to thy divine Majefty, in the Name and through the Mediation of Jefus Chrift thy bleffed Son, our Savior. Amen.

N. B. If any of the particular Prayers before inferted (page b. 53-60) after Morning Service are neceffary, they may now be read.

A Concluding Prayer.

LMIGHTY and everlafting God, who haft given Us Grace at this Time, with one Accord, to make our common Supplications unto Thee, and hast affured us by thy well-beloved Son, that whatfoever We ask in his Name We fhall receive, hear Thou from Heaven the Habitation of thy Glory, we earnestly befeech Thee, and fulfill now the Defires and Petitions of thy Servants, in fuch Measure and Degree as Thou knowest to be most expedient for us. Preferve us from the Power and Malice of the Devil, from the evil Designs of wicked Men, and from every Danger to which we are exposed; and grant us all thofe Things, that may be conducive to our eternal Welfare. Forgive whatever thy pure Eyes have feen amifs in our Conduct before Thee at this Time; and let this our Evening Sacrifice of Prayer and Praise be acceptable in thy Sight, O Lord our Strength and our Redeemer. And do Thou, O God, who haft made the Day for the Works of Light, and the Night for the Refreshment of our Infir mity, mercifully defend us the remaining Part of this Day, grant us an Evening of Peace, and a Night free from Sin: that in all our Works begun, continued and ended in Thee, we may glorifie thy holy Name, and finally of thy Mercy obtain everlafting Life: which We ask in the Name of Jefus Chrift our only Mediator, through whom we approach Thee, and in whofe moft comprehenfive Form of Words we conclude thefe our imperfect Requests for ourfelves and for all Mankind:
