GOD, the Father of Lights, who art the Author of all good Gifts, and haft commanded that if any Man lack Wisdom, he fhould ask it of Thee; We make our earneft Addreffes to thy Throne for this and every other Bleffing, and We humbly pray, that in order to our attaining greater Degrees of Light and Purity, we may meekly attend to thy holy Word, by which Thou conyeyeft good Knowledge and right Understanding. Open our Hearts, to receive the Inftructions of Truth, of Wisdom and Righteousness; may we gladly embrace the Way of Happiness, which Thou haft fet before us in the Difpenfation of the Gospel; and as we call ourselves the Difciples of Chrift, grant that in the Temper of our Minds, and the whole Courfe of our Behavior, we may fo yield ourselves to be formed by his Precepts and Example, that by the Practice of Goodnefs, Righteoufnefs and Truth, we may be daily growing into thy Likeness, and be made more and more fit to partake of the perfect Happiness of thine Heavenly Kingdom. We ask this in the Name of our only Mediator and Advocate Jefus Chrift; and in the Words which He hath taught us, We continue to pray for Ourfelves and for all Mankind;

ALMIGHTY Lord, and everlafting God, vouchfafe, we beseech thee, to direct, fanctifie and govern our Hearts and Lives in the Way of thy Laws, and in the Works of thy Commandments; that through thy moft mighty Protection, both here and ever, we may be preferved in Soul and Body. And grant, O most merciful Father, that the Words, which we have heard this Day with our outward Ears, may by thy Grace be fo grafted inwardly in our Hearts, that they may bring forth in us the Fruit of good living, to the Honor and Praise of thy Name, through Jefus Christ our Lord. HYMN I.

LORD, I will praife Thee.

Morning. Behold, God is

my Salvation; I will truft and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my Strength and my Song; He alfo is become my Salvation. (Ifai. xii. 1.)

2. Praife the Lord, call upon his Name, declare his Doings among the People, make mention that his Name is exalted.

3. Sing unto the Lord, for He hath done excellent Things; this is known in all the Earth.

4. Cry out, and fhout, thou Inhabitant of Zion; for great is the holy One of Ifrael in the midft of Thee.

5. O LORD, Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee, I will praife thy Name, for Thou haft done wonderful Things thy Counfels of old are Faithfulnefs and Truth. (ib. xxv. 1.)

12. Lord, when thy Hand is lifted up, they will not fee; but they fhall fee, and be ashamed for their Envy towards thy People; yea, the Fire of thine Enemies fhall de

vour them.

13. BLESSED is the Man that walketh not in the Counfel of the Ungodly, nor ftandeth in the Way of Sinners, and fitteth not in the Seat of the Scornful; but his Delight is in the Law of the Lord, and in his Law doth he meditate day and night. (Pf. i.)

14. He fhall be like a Tree planted by the Water-fide, that will bring forth his Fruit in due Seafon: his Leaf alfo fhall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth, it fhall profper.

15. As for the Ungodly, it is not fo with them; but they are like the Chaff, which the Wind scattereth away from the Face of the Earth; therefore the Ungodly fhall not be able to ftand in the Judgement, neither the Sinners in the Congregation of the righteous.

16. But the Lord knoweth the Way of the righteous, and the Way of the Ungodly fhall perish.

17. BLESSED is the Man that feareth the Lord, that ub great Delight in his Commandments: His Seed shall

18. Unto the Godly there arifeth upLight in Darkness; he is merciful, loving and righteous.

19. A good Man is merciful and lendeth, and will guide his Words with difcretion: for furely he fhall never be moved; and the righteous fhall be had in everlasting Remembrance.

20. He shall not be afraid of any evil Tidings; for his Heart ftandeth faft, and believeth in the Lord his Heart is eftablished, and he fhall not be afraid.

21. He hath difperfed abroad, and given to the poor; and his Righteoufnefs remaineth for ever; his Horn fhall be exalted with honor.

22. The Ungodly fhall fee it, and it fhall grieve him, he fhall ghafh with his Teeth, and confume away the Defire of the ungodly shall perifh.

23. GIVE EAR to my Words, O Lord, confider my Meditation; O hearken Thou unto the Voice of my Cry, my King and my God; for unto Thee will I make my Prayer. (P. v).

24. My Voice fhalt Thou hear betimes, O Lord; early in the Morning will I direct my Prayer unto Thee, and will look up.

25. For Thou art the God that haft no Pleasure in Wickedness; neither fhall any evil dwell with Thee. ५ 26. Such as be foolifh fhall not ftand in thy Sight; for Thou hateft all the Workers of Iniquity. The Lord will abhor both the blood-thirsty and deceitful Man.

27. But as for me, I will come into thine House in the multitude of thy Mercy; and in thy Fear will I worship toward thy holy Temple: lead me, O Lord, in thy Righteoufnefs; make thy Way plain before my Face.

28. And let all them that put their Truft in Thee rejoice: they fhall ever be giving of Thanks, because Thou defendeft them. Let them alfo that love thy Name, be joyful in Thee.

29. For Thou Lord, wilt give thy Bleffing unto the righteous; and with thy favorable Kindnefs wilt Thou defend him, as with a Shield.
