At this Festival the Church calls upon us to celebrate the mystery of the blessed Trinity that there is one God, in three distinct persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

The Holy Trinity.

COLLECT, EPISTLE, GOSPEL, LESSONS, CREEDS, ARTICLE I.

1. Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord. DEUT. vi. 4.

2. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 JOHN v. 7.

3. To us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. 1 Cor. viii. 6.

4. Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. ST. MATT. xxviii. 19.

5. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. 2 COR. xiii. 14.

6. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. REV. iv. 8.

Can we understand the doctrine of the Trinity? (1 Tim. iii. 16.)

Why may we not too curiously enquire into the mysteries of God? (Deut. xxix. 29.)

The love of God

COLLECT, EPISTLE.

1. In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his oulybegotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 1 JOHN iv. 9.

2. God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ROM. V. 8.

3. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 JOHN iv. 16.

4. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. I JOHN ii. 5.

5. For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. HEB. xii. 6.

6. How excellent is thy loving-kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. Ps. xxxvi. 7.

The power and providence of God.

COLLECT, EPISTLE, LESSONS.

1. See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no God with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. DEUT. xxxii. 39.

2. Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heaven and earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as the head above all. 1 CHRON. xxix. 11.

3. Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy. To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Ps.xxxiii. 18-19.

4. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of thein shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. ST. MATT. x. 29-30.

5. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. PROV.iii. 25-6.

6. Oh, how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men. Ps. xxxi. 19.
