A Match Made in Heaven: How Singles and the Church Can Live Happily Ever After

Portada
Kregel Publications, 2003 - 256 pàgines

Single adults--the fastest growing household type in America--are leaving the church in droves because they don't find it a place to belong. This unfortunate fact is equally obvious to an overwhelming majority of surveyed pastors who consistently rate their church's ministry to singles as poor, or fair at best. God's intent for a win-win relationship between the two may have been lost, but the map is still available.

This engaging book dares you to believe that things can, and should, be radically different between singles and the church. There is a way you can make the dream come true.

  • A balanced and affirming approach to forming a biblical church family
  • Available in single's edition and church leader's edition
  • Humorous, encouraging, and enlightening
  • Uniquely equipped, the author knows the topic intimately--from both sides
  • Offers creative ideas for both singles and church leaders
  • Compellingly written by a Kregel best-selling author.

Sobre l'autor (2003)

Wendy Widder spent most of her twenties teaching elementary students and waiting to get married. Then she decided life was happening without her, so she started a collection of graduate degrees in Bible, theology, and ancient languages. After twelve years, five advisors, three schools, two states, and two continents, she emerged from the ivory tower and found herself in mid-life, learning new ways to live whole without a better half. She is also the author of A Match Made in Heaven: How Singles and the Church Can Live Happily Ever After (Kregel, 2003) and a book she coauthored with her father to help Christian teachers integrate a biblical worldview into their courses.
