Hof. iv. 6. My People are deftroyed for Lack of Knowledge, becaufe thou haft rejected Knowledge, I will alfo reject thee, that thou fhalt be no Prieft to me; feeing thou haft forgotten the Law of thy God, I will alfo forget thy Children.

Ver. 9. There fhall be like People like Prieft, and I will punish them for their Ways, and reward them for their Doings.

Of falfe Prophets and falfe Teachers.

137. They deceive the People with Flatteries and falle Doctrine. Ifa. ix. 14. The Lord will cut off from Ifrael Head and Tail.

Duties toward the Ministry.

138. To receive their Inftructions, Deut. xvii. 9. Thou shalt come unto the Priests the Levites, and enquire.

Ver, 11. According to the Sentence of the Law which they shall teach thee, and according to the Judgment which they shall tell thee thou fhalt do; thou shalt not decline from the Sentence which they shall shew thee, to the Right-hand nor to the Left. 1 Sam. 9. 9.

139. To eftcem and love them. I Cor. iv. 1. Let a Man fo account of us as of the Minifters of Chrift, and Stewards of the Mysteries of God. xvi. 11. Let no Man despise Timothy, but conduct him as a Brother.

140. To pray for them. Acts xii. 5. Prayer was made without Ceafing of the Church unto God for Peter in Prison, and he was delivered, Ver. 7.

Matt. ix. 38. Pray ye the Lord of the Harvest, that he would fend forth Labourers into the Harvest.

Rom. xv. 30. I befeech you, Brethren, for the Lord Jefus Chrift's fake, and for the Love of the Spirit, that ye ftrive together with me in your Prayers to God for me, Ver. 31, 32.

Ifa. xxx. 9. This is a rebellious People which will not hear the Law of the Lord.

Ver. 33. They fhall know that a Prophet hath been among them. Dan. ix. 6. We have not hearkened to thy Servants the Prophets which spake in thy Name.
