1 Tim. vi. 17. Charge them that are Rich in this World, that they be not high minded, nor truft in uncertain Riches, but in the living God who giveth us richly all Things to enjoy.

210. Riches take the Heart and Thoughts off from God and Religion. Deut. viii. 12. Beware left when thou haft eaten and art full, and when thy Herds and thy Flocks are multiplied, and thy Silver and thy Gold is multiplied, then thine Heart be lifted up and thou forget the Lord thy God, and thou fay in thine Heart, my Power and the Might of mine Hand hath gotten me this Wealth. Ver. 13, 14. 17. 18.

xxxii. 13. The Lord made Jacob ride on the high Places of the Earth, that he might eat the Increase of the Fields, and he made him to fuck Honey out of the Rock, and Cyl out of the flinty Rock.

Ver. 14. Butter of Kine and Milk of Sheep, with fat of Lambs and Rams of the breed of Bashan, and Goats, with the Fat of Kidneys of Wheat, and thou didft drink the pure Blood of the Grape.

The Ufe of Riches.

212. The ufe of Riches in the Hands of a wife and good Man toward himSelf. Eccl. iii. 12. There is no Good in them but for a Man to rejoice and to do Good in his Life.

Eccl. v. 18. Behold that which I have seen, it is good and comely, for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the Good of all his Labour that he taketh under the Sun, all the Days of his Life, which God giveth him, for it is his Portion.

Ver. 19. Every Man alfo to whom God hath given Riches and Power to eat thereof, and to take his Portion, and to rejoice in his Labour, this is the gift of God.

Ver. 20. For he shall not much remember the Days of his Life, becaufe God answereth him in the Joy of his Heart. Ch. 2. 24.-3.13. -8. 15.

213. God maketh Rich. Deut. viii. 18. The Lord thy God it is he, that giveth thee Power to get Wealth.

1 Sam. ii. 7. The Lord maketh poor, and he maketh rich.

1 Kings iii. 13. The Lord faid to Solomon, I have given thee both Riches and Honour.

1 Chron. xxix. 12. Solomon faid to God, both Riches and Honour come of thee. Job

Job i. 21. Job faid, the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away' bleffed be the Name of the Lord.

Prov. x. 22. The Blefling of the Lord it maketh Rich, and he addeth no Sorrow with it.

Eccl. ii. 26. God giveth to a Man that is good in his Sight, Wisdom and Knowledge, and Joy, but to the Sinner he giveth Travel, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. Ch. 3. 13. See Gen. 24. 35.

214. Riches promised to the Righteous. Pf. cxii 2. The Generation of the Upright fhall be bleffed.

Ver. 3. Wealth and Riches shall be in his House.

Prov. iii. 16. Length of Days is in Wifdon's right Hand, and in her left Hand, Riches and Honour. Ch. 8. 18. 19.-22. 4.—24. 3. 4.

xv. 6. In the Houfe of the Righteous is much Treasure, but in the Revenues of the Wicked is much Trouble.

xxii. 4. By Humility and the Fear of the Lord are Riches and Honour, and Life.

216. Inftances of Riches not regarded by good Men. Gen. xiv. 21. The King of Sodom said to Abram, give me the Perfons, and take the Goods to thyfelf.

Ver. 23. Abram faid, I will not take any Thing that is thine.

xxviii. 20. Jacob faid, if God will be with me and keep me in the Way that I go, and will give me Bread to eat and Raiment to put on, fo that I come again to my Father's House in Peace, then shall the Lord be my God.

1 Kings iii. 11. Solomon asked Wisdom, and not Riches.

Prov. xxx. 8. Agar prayed, give me neither Poverty nor Riches, feed me with Food convenient for me.

Ver. 9. Left I be rich and deny thee, and fay who is the Lord, or left 1 be poor, and fteal and take the Name of my God in vain.

Land of Brooks of Water, of Fountains and Depths that fpring out of the Valleys and Hills.

Ver. 8. The Lord will command his Bleffing upon thee in thy StoreHouses.

Ver. 12. The Lord fhall open unto thee his good Treasure, the Heaven to give the Rain unto thy Land in his Seafon, and to bless all the Work of thine Hand, and thou fhalt lend unto many Nations, and thou shalt not Borrow. Ch. 30.9.-33. 28. Ifa. 30. 23.

Ruth i. 6. The Lord hath visited his People in giving them Bread. Pf. xxiii. 1. The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.

Ver. 5. Thou prepareft a Table for me, my Cup runneth over. xxxiv. 9. There is no Want to them that fear God.

Ver. 10. The young Lions do lack and fuffer Hunger, but they that feek the Lord fhall not want any good Thing.

Pf. xxxvii. 3. Truft in the Lord and do Good, fo fhalt thou dwell in the Land, and verily theu fhalt be fed.

Ver. 16. A little that a righteous Man hath, is better than the Riches of many Wicked. Prov. 16. 8.
