The Happiness of the Righteous.

7. The Happiness of the Righteous in Heaven, is inconceiveably great. 1 Cor ii. 9. Eye hath not feen nor Ear heard, neither have entered into the Heart of Man the Things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Ifa. 64. 4.

1 John i 2. Beloved, now are we the Sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he shall appear we fhall be like him, for we fhall fee him as he is. Rom, 8. 29. .3. 21.

Jude xxiv. He is able to prefent you faultlefs before the prefence of his Glory with exceeding Joy.

13. Free from Pain and Sorrow. Ifa. xxxiii. 24. The Inhabitant fhall not fay I am fick, the People that dwell there fhall be forgiven their Iniquity.

XXXV. 10. Sorrow and Sighing fhall fly away.

Ix. 19. The Sun fhall be no more thy Light by Day, neither fhall the Moon give Light unto thee, but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting Light, and thy God thy Glory. Ver. 20.

Matt. vi. 20. Lay up for yourselves Treasures in Heaven, where neither Moth nor Ruft doth corrupt nor Thieves break through and steal. Rev. vii. 15. They are before the Throne of God, and ferve him Day and Night in his Temple, and he that fitteth on the Throne shall lead them.

Ver. 16. And they fhall hunger no more, neither thirft any more, neither shall the Sun light on them nor any Heat.

Ver. 17. For the Lamb which is in the Midft of the Throne shall feed them, and fhall lead them unto living Fountains of Waters, and God fhall wipe away all Tears from their Eyes.

N. B. The above Texts from Ifaiah- though prophetical of the happy State of the Church on Earth, are moft ftrictly true and expreflive of the Happiness of glorified Saints in Heaven.

Rev. xxi. 4. God fhall wipe away all Tears from their Eyes, and there fhall be no more Death, neither Sorrow nor Crying, neither fhall there be any more Pain, for the former Things are paffed away.

xxii. 3. There fhall be no more Curfe, but the Throne of God and of the Lamb fhall be in it, and his Servants shall serve him.

xii. 28. In the Way of Righteoufnefs is Life, and in the Path Way thereof is no Death.

17. To the Spiritually minded. Rom. viii. 6. To be fpiritually minded is Life, and Peace. Ver. 10. 13.

Prov. xiv. 27. The Fear of the Lord is a Fountain of Life to depart from the Snares of Death. Ch. 19.23.-22. 4.

21. To loving God. See Promifes to loving God.

James i. 12. A Crown of Life he hath promifed to them that love him.

22. To Mortification, dying unto Sin. Matt. xviii. 8 If thy Hand or thy Foot offend thee, cut them off and caft them from you, it is better for thee to enter into Life, halt or maimed, rather than having two Hands or two Feet to be caft into everlasting Fire.

Ver. 9. If thine Eye offend thee pluck it out and caft it from thee, it is better for thee to enter into Life with one Eye, rather than having two Eyes to be caft into Hell Fire.

Rom. vi. 8. If we be dead with Christ we fhall alfo live with him. Ver. 11. Reckon ye yourselves to be dead indeed to Sin, but alive unto God through Jefus Christ our Lord.

Acts xi. 18. Then hath God to the Gentiles granted Repentance unto Life.

Future Punishments.

Sinners that fhall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Matt. v. 20. Except your Righteoufnefs, fhall exceed the Righteouf nefs of the Scribes and Pharifees, ye fhall in no Cafe enter into the King dom of Heaven. Ch. 7. 21. 22. 23. Jefus faid, not every one, that faith unto me, Lord, Lord, fhall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he, that doth the Will of my Father which is in Heaven.

Ver. 22. Many will fay unto me in that Day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophefied in thy Name, and in thy Name caft out Devils, and in thy Name done many wonderful Works?

deCh. 18. 3. Except ye be converted, and become as little Children, ye Mark 10. 15. fhall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Ver. 23. And then will I profefs unto them, I never knew you, Luke 13. 26. part from me ye, that Work Iniquity.

Mark 10. 23. 24. 25. 27. Jefus faid, how hardly fhall they that have Riches, enter into the Kingdom of God? How hard is it for them that truft in Riches, to enter into the Kingdom of God?—It is eafier for a Camel to go through the Eye of a Needle, than for a Rich Man to enter into the Kingdom of God.-With Men it is impoffible, but not with God, for with God all Things are poffible.

Luke 13. 24. Strive to enter in at the ftrait Gate, for many fhall Matt. 7. 13. For wide is the feek to enter in, and fhall not be able: Gate, and broad is the Way that leadeth to Deftruction, and many there be, which go in thereat, because strait is the Gate, and narrow is the Way, which leadeth unto Life, and few there be that find it.
