thee, and dost continue to bless us with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus.

O Lord, thou art the author of all blessedness : every good gift and every perfect gift cometh down from thee, the Father of lights: to thee be ascribed all the good which has been done this day, to the bodies and the souls of men. All things come of thee: unto thy name be the glory and the praise.

If any careless soul has been awakened this day, any unbelieving heart touched and convinced; if any sinful soul has been pardoned and cleansed; if any wanderer brought home, any mourner comforted, it is of thy doing, good Lord, and we bless thee for it. Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens. How excellent is thy loving kindness, O God! therefore do we put our trust under the shadow of thy wings. We have been abundantly satisfied in thy house; and thou hast made us to drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life, and in thy light have we seen light. We will be glad and rejoice in thee: we will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High, for thy great goodness sake in Jesus Christ our Lord.

SUPPLICATION.

Almighty and merciful God, thou hast promised

C

to hear the petitions of all them that ask in thy Son's name; may the things, which we have this day asked faithfully, be obtained effectually, to the relief of our necessities, and to the setting forth of thy glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Help us, O Lord, in dedicating the close of this thy day to thy worship and service: help us to draw nigh unto thee by faith, and pour upon us the abundance of thy grace. Grant that, by all thy divine ordinances, we may be continually growing and advancing to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. May every Sabbath be the means of bringing us nearer to thyself, and of making us more meet for the inheritance of the saints in light; even for the enjoyment of thy glorious kingdom, where we shall no longer see through a glass darkly, but face to face; and shall know, even as also we are known.

O God, whose blessed Son was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil, and make us the sons of God, and heirs of eternal life; Grant us, we beseech thee, that, having this hope, we may purify ourselves, even as he is pure; that, when he shall appear again with power and great glory, we may be made like unto him in his eternal and glorious kingdom, where with thee, O Father, and thee O Holy Ghost, he liveth and reigneth ever, one God world without end.

Almighty Spirit of grace, open our eyes that we may behold and know the things which belong to our peace; open our hearts, that we may more fully believe the blessed truths of thy holy word. O may the word of Christ dwell in us richly in all wisdom, and spiritual understanding; and make us continually to be given to all good works; and to keep his holy commandments all the days of our life.

Thy word, O Lord, is pure, converting the soul; let those holy scriptures, which thou hast caused to be written for our learning, and let all the faithful teachings and warnings of thy ministering servants, take deep root, and have their full effect upon our hearts. Let not the seed sown be caught away by the enemy; let not the ground be barren upon which it has fallen; let it not be choked by the lusts of the flesh and the cares of the world; but, being watered by the dew of thy heavenly grace, let it abide and abound and bring forth fruit unto perfection, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

INTERCESSION.

Most merciful God, we beseech thee to accept and bless all the means which have been used for the salvation of souls; for the spreading of the light

of thy glorious gospel, in thy Church and through the whole world. Grant to us, and to all thy people every where, that, whatever good, instruction we have heard on this thy day, we may carefully remember and diligently follow, through Jesus Christ our only Lord and Saviour.

O make thy chosen people joyful; and grant that in the rest afforded on thy holy day, and in all our peaceful fellowship with thee, we may be looking in faith to the eternal sabbath-that season of perpetual rest and peace, which remaineth for all thy people. In these memorials of our redeemer's resurrection, may we all be filled with the joyful expectation of his second coming, and of the resurrection of his saints to a blessed immortality; when we shall see him as he is; and unite together, with the holy angels, in the song of the redeemed, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."

We now commend to thy goodness and care all our beloved friends and relations. We beseech thee to bless them, not only outwardly in their bodies, but also inwardly in their souls; and prepare us to meet together in thy heavenly kingdom, for Jesus' sake. We pray likewise for our enemies, even for those who may despitefully use us and persecute us;

we entreat for them, O Father of mercies, the same favour as for ourselves, through our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.

O take us all under thy good protection this night; and if we are permitted to see another day, may we live as it becometh those, who are washed, and justified, and sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. And blessed be the Lord God amongst us, even the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things; and blessed be the name of his majesty for ever; and let the whole earth be filled with his majesty. Amen and Amen.

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation: But deliver us from evil; For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

And may the very God of peace sanctify us wholly and I pray God, that our whole spirit, soul and body may be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
