darkness, and the shadow of death; that so he might make us the children of God, and exalt us to everlasting life. May we always remember the exceeding great love of our Master and only Saviour Jesus Christ thus dying for us, and the innumerable benefits which by his precious bloodshedding he hath obtained to us. And may we give unto thee, as we are most bounden, continual thanks; submitting ourselves entirely to thy holy will and pleasure; and studying to serve thee, in true holiness and righteousness, all the days of our life.

INTERCESSION.

O Lord, we pray likewise for our fellow-creatures, as thou hast of thy goodness commanded us.

Have mercy upon all men; and make known thy saving health among all nations. O Saviour of the world, spread the good tidings of thy salvation to the ends of the earth.

Look down upon thy whole church: let the light of thy truth shine upon it, and multiply thou its faithful ministers: so that it may be stablished, strengthened, and settled in the truth of the everlasting gospel.

Graciously look upon this land. O thou Prince of peace, give peace in our time: O that all enemies might lay down their arms of rebellion, and be converted unto thee. Give us patience to bear the contradiction of sinners; to be meek and forgiving and kind, as thou, blessed Jesus, hadst pity upon thy persecutors and murderers. When we are reviled, let us not revile again; when we suffer, let us threaten not; but commit ourselves to him that judgeth righteously.

Bless all, who have done, or wished, us good; and reward them seven fold into their bosom. Do good to those, who have done, or wished us evil; and bring them to repentance and a better mind. Yea, Lord, and we do desire thy blessing upon every man living: we would go to rest in charity with all men; and pray that thy Holy Spirit may so rule the hearts of all, that the course of this world may be peaceably ordered, and that thy Church may joyfully serve thee in all godly quietness, through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Enter not into judgment with us, O Lord, but send forth among us a spirit of repentance and reformation; that we may be indeed a people fearing thee and working righteousness.

Be gracious, O heavenly Father, to our neighbours, friends, and kindred. Bless them in their

persons, in their families, and in their substance. Above all, bless them in their souls, and give them thy peace all the days of their life.

O thou, who never slumberest nor sleepest, we now again commit ourselves and all belonging to us, to thy keeping through the night: and if we are spared to see another day, do thou, O Sun of righteousness, arise upon us with healing in thy wings, and bless us with the light of life, and direct us to heaven; there, with all thy holy angels, to praise thee, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, one God, world without end.

Our Father, which art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation: But deliver us from evil; For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Grace, mercy and peace be with us, this night and for evermore.

WEDNESDAY MORNING.

CONFESSION.

O Lord God Almighty, thy name is most holy, and thy glory reacheth unto the heavens. Wherewithal shall we come before thee, and bow ourselves in thy sacred presence? We know and perceive ourselves unworthy to appear in thy sight; but we beseech thee to hear and accept us through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Merciful Father, we fall down before thee as miserable sinners, confessing that we have justly forfeited thy favour, and are utterly undeserving of any blessing from thee; but adored be thy name, thou hast graciously promised, to all who truly repent and believe the gospel, that the guilt of their sins shall be pardoned and put away through the blood of Jesus Christ, who loved us and gave himself for us; and that the power of sin shall be subdued by the grace of thy Holy Spirit: O Lord, we desire to cast ourselves anew, from day to day, upon thy mercy; imploring thee to give us true repentance and a lively faith; that we may walk before thee in newness of life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

O heavenly Father, be pleased in mercy to look down upon us this morning; and, for the sake of Jesus Christ the righteous, accept our prayers and supplications. We have reason to be covered with shame and confusion of face, when we reflect upon our numberless and grievous transgressions: we do earnestly repent and are heartily sorry for them: 0 give us, more and more, repentance unto salvation, not to be repented of.

THANKSGIVING.

We do magnify thy goodness, O Lord, that thou hast hitherto spared us, notwithstanding our repeated offences and falls. Thou hast protected us through the night; thou hast refreshed us with sleep; thou renewest unto us thy goodness this morning; thou providest for our souls and bodies. We desire, O Lord, to bless and praise thy adorable name; and to use all thy gifts in thy holy service, this day and for evermore.

Blessed be thou, Lord God of Israel, our Father, for ever and ever. Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heaven and in the earth, is thine. Thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as Head above all. Now therefore, O Lord, we
