Meet--with the blood-bought throng to fall,
Brewer. Monson. 537
Subjection of the Nations to Christ prayed for.
Through all the millions of the skies-
That all the earth is now the Lord's!
Obedient, mighty God, to thee!
Now wave the sceptre of thy reign!
Let host to host the triumph tell-
But over all the Saviour reigns ! 538
Missionary Hymn. 1 WHEN shall the voice of singing
Flow joyfully along ?
With one triumphant song,
And him who once was slain,
In righteousness to reign?
The sacred shout shall fly;
Shall echo the reply.
Shall send the chorus round,
In one eternal sound ! 539
1 NOW let the angel sound on high,
Let shouts be heard through all the sky;
Give up your kingdoms to the Lord.
Who wast, and art, and art to come;

St. Thomas Hudson.
Thy royal power assume;
Thou blest Redeemer, come.
In all the heathen's sight-
And order it aright.
O'er earth exalted be:
Which all belong to thee.
Thy full salvation bring:

Rejoicing in Christ's Reign.
To cheer the humble soul;
And spread from pole to pole.
And grow on earth again:
And o'er the nations reign.
The world shall hear his word;
The Universal Lord.
Who holds the keys of death and hell;
And sovereign power becomes him well. 2 In shame and suffering once he died ;
But now he lives forevermore :
And, all ye angel-bands, adore.
To crush thy foes—and guard thy friends ;
Brewer. Duke Street.
While all thy chosen tribes rejoice,
That thy dominion never ends.
Guided by wisdom, and by love;
O'er worlds below and worlds above. | 5 Forever reign, victorious King!
Wide thro' the earth thy name be known; And call my longing soul to sing
Sublimer anthems near thy throne.
Till all thy haughty foes submit;
Become the footstool of thy feet. 2 Then, ransomed souls shall bless thy power:
Thine arm shall full salvation bring :
Shall conquer, with their conquering King. 3 Then, ranged'thy shining throne around,
Thy honors, Lord, wilỈ we proclaim; While heaven's transported realms resound
Thy glorious deeds and saving name. 544
Adullum. Lincoln. 1 HARK!the song of jubilee,
Loud-as mighty thunders roar ;
When it breaks upon the shore-
Sheathed his sword :-he speaks—’tis done!
Are the kingdom of his Son.
With supreme, unbounded sway:
Yonder heavens have passed away!
God omnipotent shall reign:
Echo round the earth and main.
Paddington. Eastburn. 1 REJOICE! the Lord is King!
Your Lord and King adore ;
And triumph evermore!
The God of truth and love;
He took his seat above.
He rules o'er earth and heaven;
Into his hands are given.
Till all his foes submit,
And fall beneath his feet.
Jesus, the Judge, shall come,
To their eternal home. 546
1 WAKE the song of jubilee,
Let it echo o'er the sea!
Jesus reigns with sovereign power!
Christ, of lords and kings is King!'
Jesus reigns forevermore!
And the islands join their voice;

Nature of Prayer.
Returning from his ways;
And cry, ' Behold, he prays.
2 Prayer is the Christian's vital breath,
The Christian's native air;
He enters heaven with prayer.
The Holy Spirit pleads;
For sinners intercedes.

Encouragement to Prayer.
His children when they cry?
He'll help them from on high.
Engage him on their side;
And can they be denied ?
And never faint in prayer :
And makes our cause his care. 549
Brewer. St. Paul's. 1 SING to the Lord, who loud proclaims
His various and his saving names ;
But by our sure experience known.
Is open to his servants' prayer;
That he has sought his God in vain.
In whispers to suggest a fear,
The same his power-his love the same; 4 To thee our souls in faith arise,
To thee we lift expecting eyes;
