That they would be improved by some patient pruning and recasting, I make no doubt; but incessant and arduous duties leave me no leisure for this. And, moreover, I prefer to publish them as they were preached. I dedicate them to the two churches and congregations in which my pastoral life has been spent. With the church in Beaufort, South Carolina, my ministry commenced; with that in Baltimore, I hope, it will be finished.
