OPPIANUS. De natura seu venatione piscium libri quinque; Gr. 8° Florentiæ, 1515.

[ocr errors]

This is the first edition of the original poem. The title is Greek and Latin. On the reverse a Latin epistle of Giunta to Musuro, to whom he dedicates the edition. On the reverse of the following leaf a Greek life of Oppianus. The poem begins on the recto of a iiii, and ends on the reverse of the 5th leaf of i. On the recto of the following leaf the errata, and on the reverse the register from a to i quaterniones omnes, and colophon Impressum Florentiæ in Aedibus Philippi Junta Elorentini [Florentini]. Anno ab incarnatione. D. xv. supra mille mense Julio Leone Decimo Pontifice.' The following fol. is blank, and so is the recto of the last, on the reverse of which is Giunta's device. The whole vol, consists of 72 fol. This collation being accurate, we must conclude either that Giunta published two edit. of this work in the same year; or else that bibliographers, who said that the register was a-h and the vol. only 64 leaves, were mistaken.
