Ver. 47. For it is not a vain thing for you, because it is your life; and through this thing ye fhall prolong your days in the land whither you go over Jordan to poffefs it.

1 Sam. xii. 14. If ye will fear the LORD and ferve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye, and also the king that reigneth over you, continue following the LORD your GOD.

Obeying Chrift.

Exod. xxxiii. 22. If thou shalt indeed obey his [the angel's] voice, and do all that I fpeak; then will I be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary to thine adverfaries.

I. 1. 10. Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his fervant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD, and ftay upon his GOD.

Matt. vii. 24. Whofoever heareth thefe fayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wife man, which built his house upon a rock.

Ver. 25. And the rain defcended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock.

Heb. v. 9. He became the author of eternal falvation to all them that obey him.

John v. 24. He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that fent me, hath everlasting life, and fhall not come into condemnation, but is paffed from death unto life.

John viii. 51. If a man keep my faying, he shall never fee death.

John xv. 10. If ye keep my commandments, ye fhall abide in my love.

IV. To SINCERITY and UPRIGHTNESS.

1 Chron. xxix. 17. I know alfo, my GoD, that thou haft pleasure in uprightness.

2 Chron. xvi. 9. The eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to fhew himself strong in behalf of those whofe heart is perfect towards

him.

Job viii. 6. If thou wert pure and upright, furely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteoufnefs profperous.

Pf. xi. 7. The righteous LORD loveth righteoufnefs; his countenance doth behold the upright.

Pf. xv. 1. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who fhall dwell in thy holy hill?

Ver. 2. He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteoufnefs.

P. xviii. 25. With an upright man thou wilt fhew thyfelf upright.

Such as are upright in their way are his

Prov. xiii. 6. Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way.

Prov. xii. 22. They that deal truly are his de light.

Prov. xv. 8. The prayer of the upright is his delight.

Prov. xxi. 18. The wicked fhall be a ransom for the righteous; and the tranfgreffor for the upright.

Prov. xxviii. 10. Whofo caufeth the righteous to go aftray in an evil way, he fhall fall himself into his own pit; but the upright fhall have good things in poffeffion.

1 John iii. 21. If our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence towards GOD.

Rom. xiv. 22. Happy is he that condemneth not bimfelf in that thing which he alloweth.

V. To the LOVE of GOD.

Exod. xx. 6. Shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Deut. vii. 9. GOD keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him, unto a thousand genera tions.
