And (by s. 6.) that it shall be lawful for his majesty to allow and order the raising by beat of drum for the militia of each county, over and above the quotas to which may be raised. the militia is to be reduced under the 51 Geo. 3. c. 20. G. B. (see Addenda I. P. 23.) such number of supernumeraries as his majesty shall direct, not exceeding one half of the amount of the quotas above mentioned. And it is a provision of this act, (s. 7.) that it shall be lawful for the colonels or commanding officers of regiments of militia, Militia-men and the commissioned and non-commissioned officers may be raised thereof, with the approbation of his majesty, to raise men ters, &c. though for the militia by beat of drum, at the head quarters of their respective regiments, or within 10 miles thereof, ing county. although such head quarters, or circle of 10 miles, may not be within the county to which the militia shall belong, or any adjoining county. This statute also regulates the number of men allowed to enlist from the militia into his majesty's regular forces, in proportion to the establishment of each regiment; and amends the several acts relating to the militia in other respects. The 53 Geo. 3. c. 20. E 53 Geo.3. c.20. extended the 51 Geo. 3. c. 20. G. B. (see Addenda I. P. 23.) to the corps of miners of Cornwall and Devon, and provides that the number who shall enlist in the regular forces, shall not exceed one-seventh part of the quota fixed by the 42 Geo. 3. c. 62. under which said corps was raised. But the 51 Geo. 3. c. 20. has been since repealed by the 56 Geo. 3. c 64. G. B. And the 53 Geo. 3. c. 132. 53 Geo.5.c.132.

The 57 Geo. 3. c. 57. U. K. recites (s. 2.) that by the 42 Geo. 3. c. 90. G. It is one of the provisions of the 57 Geo. 3. c. 57.
