GOD A DEFENCE.

XLVIII. God is the defence of his people. Numb. xiv. 9. Their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not. 2 Kings xix. 34. The Lord said, I will defend this city to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

Job xxii. 23. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up.-Ver. 25. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence.

Ps. v. 11. Let those that put their trust in thee rejoice, because thou defendest them.

vii. 10. My defence is of God, who saveth the upright in heart.

xx. 1. The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble: the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.
