The preparations of the heart in man: and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD,

All the ways of man are clean in his own eyes but the LORD weigheth the spirits. Commit thy works unto the LORD: and thy thoughts shall be established.

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged : and by the fear of the LORD men depart

from evil.

When a man's ways please the LORD: he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

A man's heart deviseth his the LORD directeth his steps.

way :

but

How much better is it to get wisdom than gold and understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

The highway of the upright is to depart

he that keepeth his way pre

from evil serveth his soul.

Pride goeth before destruction and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly than to divide the spoil with the proud.

The rich and the poor meet together : but the LORD is the maker of them all. By humility and the fear of the LORD: are riches, and honour, and life.

For the LORD will plead their cause: and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.

For their Redeemer is mighty : he shall plead their cause with thee.

:

3 Hath not God chosen the poor of this world, rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD and that which he hath given will He pay him again.

Let us search and try our ways and turn again to the LORD;

Let us lift up our heart with our hand : unto God in the heavens.

Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us : consider and behold our reproach.

The joy of our heart is ceased our dance is turned into mourning.

The crown is fallen from our heads: woe unto us that we have sinned!

For this our heart is faint for these

things our eyes are dim.

Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever: thy throne from generation to generation.

Turn us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned renew our days as of old.

HYMN XXII.

Turn ye even unto me, saith the LORD: with all your heart;

And with fasting and with weeping and with mourning.

d;

And rend your heart, and not your garments and turn unto the LORD your God For he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness and repenteth him of the evil.

Who knoweth if he will return and repent and leave a blessing behind him? Even a meat-offering and a drink-offering unto the LORD your God.

D

Blow the trumpet in Zion: sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly;

Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders gather the children and those that suck the breasts;

Let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber and the bride out of her closet;

:

Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD: weep between the porch and the altar;

And let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD and give not thine heritage to reproach.

That the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
