Set thy heart aright and constantly endure and make not haste in time of trouble. Cleave unto him and depart not away: that thou mayest be increased at thy last end.

Whatsoever is brought upon thee, take cheerfully and be patient when thou art changed to a low estate.

For gold is tried in the fire and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity. Believe in him and he will help thee: order thy way aright and trust in him.

Ye that fear the LORD, wait for his mercy and go not aside, lest ye fall;

Ye that fear the LORD, hope for good: and for everlasting joy and mercy.

HYMN XLIII.

Trinity Sunday.

Job xi. 7, 8. 13-20.

Canst thou by searching find out God: canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

It is high as heaven, what canst thou do: deeper than hell, what canst thou know?

:

If thou prepare thine heart and stretch out thine hands toward him ;

If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles;

For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

Because thou shalt forget thy misery and remember it as waters that pass away.

And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning;

And thou shalt be secure because there

is hope yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

Also thou shalt lie down and none shall make thee afraid ;

But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.

HYMN XLIV.

First Sunday after Trinity.

Job xxviii. 12—15. 17, 18. 20. 22—28.

Where shall wisdom be found: and where is the place of understanding?

Man knoweth not the price thereof: neither is it found in the land of the living.

The depth saith, It is not in me and the sea saith, It is not with me.

It cannot be gotten for gold: neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

The gold and crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold;

No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

Whence then cometh wisdom: and where is the place of understanding?

Destruction and death say: We have heard the fame of it with our ears.

God understandeth the way thereof: and he knoweth the place thereof;

F

For he looketh to the ends of the earth : and seeth under the whole heaven.

:

To make the weight for the winds and he weigheth the waters by measure.

When he made a decree for the rain : and a way for the lightning of the thunder; Then did he see it and declared it : he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.

And unto man he said, Behold the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding.

HYMN XLV.

Second Sunday after Trinity.

Job v. 17-21. 24. 26, 27.

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty;

For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth and his hands make whole.

He shall deliver thee in six troubles : in seven there shall no evil touch thee:

In famine he shall redeem thee from death and in war from the power of the sword.

:

Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh :

And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace : and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.

Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.

Lo this, we have searched it, so it is: hear it, and know thou it for thy good.

HYMN XLVI.

Third Sunday after Trinity.

Isaiah xxx. 18-21.

Therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you;

For the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
