HYMN LI.

Eighth Sunday after Trinity.

Luke xii. 29-37. 40.

Seek not what ye shall eat, nor what ye shall drink: neither be ye of doubtful mind; For all these things do the nations of the world seek after and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

:

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God: and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock: for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Sell that ye have, and give alms : provide yourselves bags which wax not old,

A treasure in the heavens that faileth not: where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

For where your treasure is there will your heart be also.

Let your loins be girded about : and your lights burning;

And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their Lord: when he will return from the wedding;

That when he cometh and knocketh: they may open unto him immediately.

Blessed are those servants: whom the Lord when he cometh shall find watching.

Be ye therefore ready also for the Son of Man cometh at an hour when ye think

not.

HYMN LII.

Ninth Sunday after Trinity.

Isaiah xii. 1–6.

O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me,

Thine anger is turned away and thou comfortedst me.

Behold, God is my salvation: I will trust, and not be afraid;

For the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song: he also is become my salvation.

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water : out of the wells of salvation.

And in that day shall ye say: Praise the LORD, call upon his name;

Declare his doings among the people : make mention that his name is exalted.

Sing unto the LORD, for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.

Cry out and shout thou inhabitant of Zion;

For great is the Holy One of Israel : in the midst of thee.

HYMN LIII.

Tenth Sunday after Trinity.

Ephesians vi. 10-18.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the LORD and in the power of his might;

Put on the whole armour of God: that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood: but against principalities, against powers; Against the rulers of the darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places.

:

Wherefore take to you the whole armour of God: that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth: and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith: wherewith ye shall be able to quench the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation: and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

Praying always with all prayer: and supplication in the Spirit.

HYMN LIV.

Eleventh Sunday after Trinity.

Job v. 8-13. 15, 16.

I would seek unto God and unto God

would I commit my cause;

Which doeth great things and unsearchable marvellous things without number;

:

Who giveth rain upon the earth and sendeth waters upon the fields

;

To set upon high those that be low : that those which mourn may be exalted to safety. He disappointeth the devices of the crafty: so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise :

He taketh the wise in their own craftiness : and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.

But he saveth the poor from the sword: from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.

:

So the poor hath hope and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.

HYMN LV.

Twelfth Sunday after Trinity.

1 Corinthians xv. 51-58.

We shall not all sleep but we shall all be changed;

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump;
