HYMN LXIII.

Twentieth Sunday after Trinity.

1 Thessalonians iv. 13-18.

I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren : concerning them which are asleep ;

That ye sorrow not even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again;

Even so them also which sleep in Jesus: will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord;

That we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

:

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout: with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God;

And the dead in Christ: shall rise first.

Then we which are alive and remain : shall be caught up together with them in the clouds ;

To meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we be ever with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

HYMN LXIV.

Twenty-first Sunday after Trinity.

1 Romans xiv. 8, 9. 22 Timothy ii. 11-13. 1 Whether we live, we live unto the LORD: and whether we die, we die unto the LORD;

Whether we live therefore or die we are the LORD'S.

For to this end Christ both died and rose, and revived,

That he might be Lord both of the dead and the living.

2 If we be dead with him: we shall also live with him;

If we suffer, we shall also reign with him : if we deny him, he also will deny us:

If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

He was delivered for our offences and raised again for our justification.

HYMN LXV.

Twenty-second Sunday after Trinity.

Isaiah xxv. 1. 4. 8, 9.

O LORD, thou art my God: I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name;

For thou hast done wonderful things: thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

For thou hast been a strength to the poor : a strength to the needy in his distress;

A refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

He will swallow up death in victory : and the LORD God will wipe away tears from off all faces.

And the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth for the LORD hath spoken it.

And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God: we have waited for him, and he will save us ;

This is the LORD, we have waited for

him we will be glad and rejoice in his

salvation.

HYMN LXVI.

Twenty-third Sunday after Trinity.

Isaiah xxvi. 3-9.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee:

Trust ye in the LORD for ever for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength. For he bringeth down them that dwell on high: the lofty city he layeth it low.

The foot shall tread it down even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy. The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.

Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

With my soul have I desired thee in the night yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early:

For when thy judgments are in the earth: the inhabitants of the world will learn right

eousness.

HYMN LXVII.

Twenty-fourth Sunday after Trinity.

Romans v. 1–9.

Therefore being justified by faith: we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand

joice in hope of the glory of God.

and re

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also knowing that tribulation worketh patience :

And patience, experience : and experience, hope :

:

And hope maketh not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, By the Holy Ghost: which is given unto

us.

For when we were yet without strength: in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
