Thither the tribes went up, even tribes of the LORD to testify unto Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. And although, O Lord Christ: the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee:

Yet Thou wast presented unto the Father: in a temple made with hands.

The glory of that latter house was greater than of the former

The Desire of all nations came and the house was filled with glory.

Saint Matthias's Day.

O Lord Jesus Christ: thou Son of the living God;

Have mercy on the bride whom Thou hast chosen deck her with the beauty of holiness.

Have mercy on the body which Thou hast prepared for thyself out of the sons

of men evermore dwell in it with thy Holy Spirit.

Have mercy on the Sion which Thou hast chosen for thine habitation : place thy continual rest in her.

Have mercy on the vineyard which Thou hast dug and planted fill it with faithful labourers.

Have mercy on the flock which Thou hast purchased with thy most precious blood: feed it from thy heavenly pasture.

Have mercy on the host which Thou leadest unto Salvation : clothe it with the armour of light.

Have mercy on the nations where Thou hast set up thy name : on the people whom Thou hast chosen.

Have mercy on the kings whom Thou hast enthroned on the priests whom Thou hast anointed.

O LORD, remember the place of thy habitation: forget not the land of thine inheritance.

HXMN LXXIV.

The Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

O LORD God of our salvation : wonderful and holy art Thou;

Thy doings are past finding out: Thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Thou didst speak to thy servant Abraham: that in his seed should all families of the earth be blessed.

Thou didst renew thy covenant : and didst gladden the hearts of our Fathers.

Thou didst swear to thy servant David : that his throne should abide for ever;

Thou didst send by thy servants the prophets and didst speak of Him that should come.

And when the fulness of time was come : Thou didst send by an angel from heaven; Thou didst proclaim the fulfilment of Thy promise and didst remember thy Holy

covenant.

Glory be to Thee, O Father for thou didst visit and redeem thy people.

Thanks be unto Thee, O Father for thine unspeakable gift.

Saint Mark's Day.

Ecclesiasticus xxvi. 12. 11. 13-17.

Israel

O LORD, have mercy upon the people that is called by thy name : and upon whom thou hast named thy firstborn:

Gather all the tribes of Jacob together: and inherit them as from the beginning.

O be merciful unto Jerusalem, thy holy city: the place of thy rest.

Fill Zion with thine unspeakable oracles and thy people with thy glory.

Give testimony unto those that thou hast possessed from the beginning and raise up prophets that have been in thy name:

Reward them that wait for thee and let thy prophets be found faithful.
