A. In 1526, by William Tyndale, over three hundred years ago.

Why is our Bible sometimes called King James' Bible? A. Because James I., king of England, appointed forty-seven learned men to prepare a correct English version of the Scriptures.

Q. When was their work finished?

A. In 1603; about two hundred and fifty years ago.

Q. Have there been any changes in the English Bible since then?

A. Only very small alterations.

Q. What is the great design of the Bible?
A. To teach us the will of God.

Q. How should we read and study the Bible?

A. With reverence and love, desiring to know and obey all its commands.

Q. What do we need to enable us to understand the Bible! A. The light of the Holy Spirit.

Q. How may we obtain it?

A. By prayer.

Q. What has the Saviour said about the gift of the Holy Spirit?

A. "If ye, then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" Luke xi, 13.

Question. What is the name of the first book in the Bible?

nswer. Genesis.

What is the meaning of the word Genesis?

Creation.

Q. Why was this name given to the book?

A. Because it gives the true account of the creation of the world.

Q. By whom was the world made?
A. God. Verse 1.

Q. What do you know about God?
A. God is a spirit. He cannot be seen with
human eyes. His works show us that he
exists everywhere; with the Bible, they teach
us that he has existed always, and is all-
wise, all-powerful, and infinitely good and
holy.

Q. What is it to create?

A. To form something out of nothing.

Q. Can man create?

A. He cannot.

Q. How did God create the world?

A. He spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. Psa. xxxiii, 9.

Q. Can angels create?

A. They cannot no being but God can create.
Q. When did God create the heavens and the earth?
A. In the beginning.

Q. What is meant by the beginning?

A. When God commenced creating.

A. Six days.
