[This manuscript was written in 1873. Morris's contributions to the decoration of the book are a few of the floral ornaments, some in colours, others in monochrome, in the text. A full-page border to the first page is the work of Mrs. Lessore Powell, who also did most of the remaining ornaments in the text, a few being the work of Mr. Fairfax Murray, who also painted two small historiated miniatures. Mr. Murray's note on the division of the work, with a typed transcript, accompanies the volume.]
