[Sold by Messrs. Sotheby on June 30. The Log was written on a series of parchment sheets, discoloured by age. by Thomas Atkinson, sailing master of the Victory. It ends at 9.15 on the morning of the Battle of Trafalgar, and consequently did not contain Nelson's signals. It was the property of Mr. T. F. Barratt, and was purchased for the sum named on behalf of Mr. James Buchanan, who has presented it to the nation as a tribute to the navy of to-day. It is now in the British Museum.]
