Ichthyologie ou Histoire Naturelle des Poissons, 216 col. plates, 6 vol., orig. cf., Berlin, 1785-8, folio (472), Dec. 2, Sotheby Heffer, 10 IOS. Block Book, on vell., coloured throughout by hand. Nautical Ephemeris and Perpetual Calendar, 11 ll., size 3 by 4 inches, comprising 8 Compass-cards on 8 pages, nautical tables 3 pages, 4 maps (Gascony, Flanders, England and Ireland), engraved in the Portolano style, 4 pages, Compass-card for the North Star 1 page, Perpetual Calendar January to December 6 pages, 22 pages in all, followed by a folding MS. The volume bears no imprint or date, but, judging from the dialect of the French text, was probably engraved and printed in French Flanders about 1500 to 1520. It is preserved in a black morocco binding of a later period, probably about the end of the 17th century, when the following inscription at the bottom of the verso of the last leaf was doubtless added: "N.B.-That this appeared to S. P. to have been K. Hen. 8ths. own Book. As this book has long been preserved in the library of a descendant of Samuel Pepys, there can be no doubt that the initials "S. P." refer to him, n.d., 4to.
