That a fum, not exceeding twenty-nine thoufand one hundred aud twenty-four pounds three fhillings and four pence, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of four troops of dragoons and twenty companies of foot, ftationed in Great Britain, for the purpofe of recruiting the regiments ferving in Eaft India, from the 25th day of December 1798 to the 24th day of December 1799, both inclufive, being 365 days.

That a fum, upon account not exceeding one hundred and eightyfive thousand pounds, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of recruiting, and contingencies, for his Majefty's land forces, and of extra feed for the cavalry in Great Britain, for the year 1799.

That a fum, upon account, not exceeding fixty thoufand pounds, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of contingencies for the embodied militia of Great Britain, and for feveral corps of fencible infantry, for the year 1799.

That a fum, not exceeding two hundred feventy-nine thousand nine hundred and thirty four pounds nineteen fhillings and two pence, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of cloathing for the embodied militia of Great Britain, and for the corps of miners of Cornwall and Devon, for the year 1799.

That a fum, not exceeding four hundred eighteen thousand four hundred and forty pounds five fhillings and eight pence, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of feveral corps of fencible cavalry from the 25th day of December 1798 to the 24th day of December 1799, both inclufive, being 365 days.

That a fum, upon account, not exceeding twenty-five thousand pounds, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of extra feed for the feveral corps of fencible cavalry in Great Britain, for the year 1799.

That a fum, not exceeding two hundred and twenty thoufand pounds, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of the increased rates of fubfiftence, to be paid to innkeepers, and others, on quartering foldiers, for the year 1799.

That a fum, not exceeding one hundred and fixty-three thousand nine hundred and feventy-nine pounds feven fhillings and one penny, be granted to his Majefty, upon account of the reduced officers of his Majefty's land forces and marines, for the year 1799.

That a fum, not exceeding twenty pounds twelve fillings and eleven pence, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of allowances to one private gentleman of the two troops of horse guards reduced, and to one fuperannuated gentleman of the four troops of horfe guards, for the year 1799.

That a fum, not exceeding fifty-two thousand five hundred pounds, be granted to his Majefty, upon account of the reduced officers of his Majefty's British American forces, for the year 1799.

That a fum, not exceeding feven thousand five hundred pounds, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of allowances to feveral reduced officers of his Majefty's British American forces for the year 1799.

That a fum, not exceeding two thoufand four hundred and fiftyone pounds and one fhilling, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of the civil eftablishment of the island of Newfoundlaud, in America, from the 1ft day of April 1799 to the 1ft day of April 1800.

That a fum, not exceeding four thousand one hundred pounds, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of the civil eftablishment of the Bahama Ilands, in America, in addition to the falaries now paid to the public officers out of the duty fund, and other incidental charges attending the fame, from the 1st day of January to the 31ft day of December 1799.

That a fum, not exceeding five hundred and eighty pounds, be granted to his Majefty, for defraying the charge of the civil eftablifhment of the Bermudas or Somers Iflands, from the 24th day of June 1799 to the 24th day of June 1800.

RESOLUTIONS OF THE COMMITTEE OF WAYS AND MEANS REPORTED TO THE HOUSE OF COMMONS AND AGREED TO TUESDAY, DEC. 4th, 1798.

Refolved,

That fo much of an act, made in the laft feffion of parliament, intituled, “An act for granting to his Majefty an aid and contri"bution for the profecution of the war," as charges any perfon with an additional duty in proportion to the amount of the rates or duties to which, prior to the 5th day of April 1798, fuch perfon was affeffed according to any affeffment made in purfuance of any act of parliament in force at the time of patling the faid act of the laft feffion, be repealed.

That, towards raifing the fupply granted to his Majefty, there be charged annually, during a term to be limited, the feveral rates and duties following upon all income arifing from property in Great Britain belonging to any of his Majefty's fubjects, although not refident in Great Britain, and upon all income of every person refiding in Great Britain, and of every body, politic or corporate, or company

company, fraternity, or fociety of perfons (whether corporate or not corporate) in Great Britain, whether any fuch income fhall arife from lands, tenements, or hereditaments, wherefoever the fame fhall be fituate, in Great Britain or elsewhere, or from any kind of perfonal property, or other property whatever, or from any profeffion, office, employment, trade, or vocation; that is to fay,

One one hundred and twentieth part of fuch income, if the fame fhall amount unto 60l. per annum, and fhall be under 651. per

annum.

One ninety-fifth part of fuch income, if the fame fhall amount to 651. but fall be under 7ol.

One feventieth part of fuch income, if the fame fhall amount to zol. but fhall be under 751.

One fixty-fifth part of fuch income, if the fame fhall amount to 751. but fhall be under 801.

One fixtieth part of fuch income, if the fame fall amount to 80l. but fhail be under $51.

One fifty-fifth part of fuch income, if the fame fhall amount to 851. but fall be under 90l.
