Pupil of her father, who

dressed her in boys' clothes that she might study in the Academy. Aged
25, she went to London, and became popular. In 1769 was made Foun-
dation member of the Royal Academy, and was an exhibitor for seventeen
years.
Married twice. She resided in Rome twenty-five years. Died
there 1807. Boydell published 60 engravings from her works.

MORGHEN (RAFFAELLO).

Born Naples, 1760. Died 1833. At Rome studied under Volpato, whose daughter he married. He has been designated the father of the modern
