Contains the facsimile plates (17) of the demotic Papyrus Codices, forming the Collection of the Strassburg University Library, with transliteration, translation and notes. It consists of matrimonial and commercial contracts and similar documents from the time of Psammetich down to the later period of the Roman Empire, and includes also a few literary, principally religious texts. The larger and most important part of the collection was found at Gebelên, and its contents are closely related to the Greek documents from the same place just published.

A note beneath the Colophon, written probably by the same I'timad states that the
book had cost 7000 rupees.

The scribe, Jamalu I-din Husain of Shiraz is one of the famous calligraphers of
Akbar's time, mentioned in the Ain-i Akbari.
