In the book, a family of shepherds, must travel to Bethlehem for the great census. The book tells of the travels to get to Bethlehem, and the wonders they experience in being witnesses to the birth of Jesus. Interwoven in the story is a special blanket, Timmy John's special blanket. This the first of a four book series in which Timmy John, the main character of the story, has encounters with Jesus the Messiah. Brokenlily James is one of 9 children raised in Seattle Washington by Grant and Lois Sweeney. In addition to being a housewife and mother of one son, Brokenlily is a lay midwife, artist, community volunteer and writer extraordinaire. Her accomplishments include numerous awards recognizing her artistic talents in cooking, flower arrangements, braided rugs and authentic Native American crafts. Brokenlily served as Vice President and Secretary of the Tobacco Valley Food Pantry for many years and organized the "make a difference day" contest, winning the statewide competition in Montana. Brokenlily has published short stories in Compleat Mother Magazine and in local publications. Brokenlily has also had several poems published in various publications. Brokenliy resides with her husband of 28 years, in Republic Washington. |
