Father, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous and sober life, to the glory of thy holy name. Amen.

The following Prayer to be said by the Minister alone.

ALMIGHTY God, unto whom all hearts

are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid; purify the thoughts of our hearts, that we may perfectly love thee, and worthily magnify thy holy name, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

At the end of this and all other Prayers, the word Amen is to be said by the Choir and the Congregation.

To be said by the Congregation after the Minister; all kneeling or standing.

OUR Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven: Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Minister. O Lord, open thou our lips;

Congregation. And our mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

Here all stand up.

Then shall be read the xcvIIIth Psalm, in alternate verses, by the Minister and People standing, or otherwise chanted by the Choir.

Psalm XCVIII.

OSING unto the LORD a new song;

for he hath done marvellous things. His own right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

The LORD hath declared his saving power; his righteousness hath he revealed in the sight of the heathen.

He hath remembered his mercy and truth toward the house of Israel; and all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Sing aloud unto the LORD, O all the earth; burst forth into singing, rejoice, and give thanks.

Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Let the floods clap their hands, and the mountains shout for joy before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth.

With righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity. Amen.

Minister. Glory be to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God;

Congregation. As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

¶ Then a LESSON taken out of the Old or New Testament, and after that Psalm LXVII, to be read in alternate verses, by the Minister and Congregation, or otherwise chanted by the Choir.

Psalm LXVII.

GOD be merciful unto us, and bless us; and shew us the light of his counte

nance.

That thy way may be known upon earth, thy salvation among all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God; yea, let all the people praise thee.

O let the nations rejoice and be glad; for thou shalt judge the people righteously; and govern the nations upon earth.

Let the people praise thee, O God; yea, let all the people praise thee.

Then shall the earth bring forth her increase; and God, even our own God, shall give us his blessing.

God shall bless us; and all the ends of the world shall fear him. Amen.

¶ Then shall be read on the first Sunday in the month, the two following Collects; and likewise on the fifth Sunday, when there are five Sundays in the month: The Minister alone reading; the Choir and Congregation saying Amen; all kneeling or standing.

Let us pray.

ALMIGHTY God, who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men; grant unto thy people that they may love that which thou commandest, and desire that which thou dost promise; that so, among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. }

WE humbly beseech thee, O Father, mercifully to look upon our infirmities, and for the glory of thy name turn from us all those evils that we most justly have deserved; and grant that in all our troubles we may put our whole trust and confidence in thy mercy, and evermore serve thee in holiness and pureness of living, to thine honour and glory, as disciples of thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Second Sunday in the Month. O GOD, who didst send thy Son Jesus Christ to deliver us from all iniquity, and make us the sons of God and heirs of eternal life; grant, we beseech thee, that we, having this hope, may purify ourselves even as he is pure; that, when he shall appear again with power and great glory, we may be made like unto him, and be admitted to dwell with thee in thy heavenly kingdom. Amen.

O GOD, from whom all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works do proceed; give unto thy servants that peace which the world cannot give; that both our hearts may be set to obey thy commandments, and also that by thee we being defended from the fear of our enemies, may pass our time in rest and quietness, through thy merciful aid in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Third Sunday in the Month.

ALMIGHTY God, who shewest to them that be in error, the light of thy truth, to the intent that they may
