FIRST SERVICE.

THE ORDER

MORNING

FOR

PRAYER,

EVERY LORD'S DAY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, EXCEPT THE first SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH, WHEN THE THIRD SERVICE SHALL BE USED.

The Service having been introduced by a VOLUNTARY on the Organ, or the Singing of a HYMN, the Minister shall read some one or more of these sentences of the Scriptures that follow; and then he shall read that which is written after the said sentences: the Minister and Congregation standing.

WHEN the wicked man turneth away

from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Ezek. xviii. 27.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and

let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah lv. 7.

Enter not into judgement with thy servants, O LORD; for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. Psalm cxliii. 2. Repent ye; for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Matt. iii. 2.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us; but if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John, i.

The hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a spirit; and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John iv. 23. 24.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalm li. 17.

To us, there is but one God, THE FATHER; and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding,
