Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort them that are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God even our Fa ther, which hath loved us, and given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace. (Heb. vi. 18.) Ver. 17. Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. Observe, the foregoing scriptures represent a Christian's comfort, as proceeding from God the Father, from Christ, the Holy Ghost, and from the holy scriptures. SATISFACTION. CXIII. God satisfieth. Ps. xvii. 15. I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake with thy likeness. xxxvi. 8, 9. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house, and thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life. lxiii. 5, 6. Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest. vii. 19. The law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did. xi. 6. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. 1 Pet. i. 3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Ver. 13.
