Tableaux Historiques de la Révolution Française (Collection Complete des) Composée de 113 numéros en trois volumes. (Texte par l'abbé Fauchet, Champfort, Guingené et Pages). A Paris, chez Auber, editeur et seul propriétaire, rue SaintLazare, Chaussée-d'Antin, 42; imprimé par Didot l'ainé et terminé par Charles, rue de Seine, an XIII. de la Republique française (1791-1804), 3 vols., fol., vellum paper, 3 frontispieces after Fragonard fils by Malapeau and Copia, 153 plates after Delvaux, Duplessi-Bertaux, Fragonard fils, Girardet, Meunier, Ozanne, Prieur, Swebach-Desfontaines, and Veny, by Berthault, Choffard, Coiny, Desault, Duparc, Duplessi-Bertaux, Dupréel, Girardet, Lépine, Le Gouaz, Malapeau, Niquet, and Pelicier, and 66 fine medallion portraits after Chinard, Gérard, and Mme. Lebrun by Levachez, with charming vignettes beneath, designed and etched by Duplessi-Bertaux (£8, and with the plates marked with a star in the first issue for the first 80 discourses £12, and double with the artists' proofs).

The work came out in 113 numbers for 678 frs. After the publication of one volume and a half in the congested type adopted during the revolutionary period, this sort of printing was discarded, and the editors had to reprint certain parts, and extend it to 3 vols. They utilized the leaves of the text and the engravings, interpolated 9 preliminary discourses with 6 plates, and had the title re-issued with a new frontispiece. This interesting book may, on the whole, be considered well executed; Duplessi-Bertaux's compositions are remarkable, and deserve the praise generally bestowed on them. In 1839 Pixerecourt's copy, containing both texts and the unlettered proofs and the etchings, was sold for 900 frs.; resold in the Em. Martin sale in 1877 for 3800 frs. Renouard's copy in a similar state, in 4 vols., was sold in 1854 for 323 frs.
