Ward (E.). History of the Grand Rebellion, digested into Verse. Illustrated with about a hundred heads of the worthy Royalists and other principal Actors. London, J. Morphew, 1713, 3 vols., 8vo. The portraits (in first state without numbers), after Vandyck, More, Johnson, by Van der Gucht, Vertue, Sturt, etc., were subsequently used for Clarendon's History, when the numbers were added to the plates (£5 to £6).

The author states in the preface that he borrowed the subject from Tasso's Aminta. According to Jombert, Cochin had retouched some of the plates, and engraved the plate of the "Timidité d'Aminte." The unique copy on vellum is in the Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal.

Weber. Das Veränderte Russland, in welchem die jetzige Verfassung des Geist und Weltlichen Regiments, der Kriegstaat Zu Lande und Zu Wasser wahre Zustand, die Begebenheiten des Czarewitzen, etc., in einem bis 1720, gehenden Journal vorgestellt werden mit einer accuraten Landcarte und Kupferstichen versehen. Hannover, Nicolas Förster und Sohn, 1729, 4to., portraits of Peter the Great and of Golovine, plates and maps including a plan of St. Petersburg and a view of Cronstadt. The work forms the extract from a German Diplomatist's Journal, who was on a mission in St. Petersburg under the reign of Peter the Great; he dilates on the character and the habits of this monarch, the eventful career of the Czarewitch, gives a full description of St Petersburg, describes the sojourn of the Court at Peterhof during the summer months, the reception and treatment of the English ambassador, the excursions to Cronstadt. The whole is interspersed with interesting anecdotes (10s.).
