George was the great great grandson of Thomas Lowree and the 5th great grandson of Governor William Bradford, a Mayflower pilgrim. Thomas Lowree immigrated from Ireland ca. 1727 and married Mary Loury, a Scottish immigrant, in 1732 in Massachusetts. Thomas died in 1788 and Mary died in 1790, both in Connecticut. Governor William Bradford is well-known as a Mayflower pilgrim who came on that ship in 1620 to Massachusetts. |
