SECRET DISCIPLESHIP.

WHEN I become a Christian," says a young friend of ours, nobody shall know anything about it. I detest ostentation in religion. And what is it to other people whether I am religious or not? No! Depend upon it, when I begin to follow Christ, if I ever do begin, I shall keep the matter to myself."

But are you quite sure, we may reply, Is secret that such concealment is possible? We

possible? are perpetually manifesting ourselves, and that even without our own consent. Small things, as well as great, let out the secret. The very tones of our voice betray us. The grasp of the hand tells something. The glance of the eye tells something more. And then there are all our more important
