In the Time of Extremity; in his last and greatest Need; in the Hour of Death, and in the Day of Judgment,

Good Lord deliver him.

We Sinners do befeech thee to hear us, O Lord God; that it may please thee to affuage his Pains; and give him Patience to bear his Sicknefs; and when thou shalt call him home, give him a quiet and joyful Departure:

We beseech thee to hear us, good Lord. That it may please thee to make him a Partaker of all thy Mercies and Promises in Chrift Jefus :

We beseech thee to hear us, good Lord. That it may please thee, after this Life, to bestow upon him the State of Joy, Blifs, and Happiness, with all thy bleffed Saints in thy heavenly Kingdom:

We befeech thee to hear us, good Lord. Son of God, we beseech thee to hear us. O Lamb of God, that takeft away the Sins of the World,

Grant him thy Peace.

O Lamb of God, that takeft away the Sins of the World,

Hear our Prayers and have Mercy upon him.

This is to be

III. O Lord, raise

up thy ufed when there Power, and come among us, appears little Hopes of Reco- and with great Might fuccour thy poor Servant now languifhing under great Weakness of Body; look with an Eye of Mercy upon him, who in Appearance, is now drawing near the Time of his Diffolution: Perfect, O Lord, his Repentance, and make it effectual through the Blood of the ever-bleffed Jefus; and for Chrift's Sake pardon all the Errors of his paft Life, that he may come to his great Change without Guilt, and feel its near Approach without Fear and Terror. O give him a firm and well-grounded Affurance, that thou art fully reconciled unto him; and now he is entered into the Valley of the Shadow of Death, take Care of him, and carry him through that dark Paffage, into the bright Regions of eternal Blifs But whether thou feeft it fit to give him fuch a Foretafte of Happiness; yet, O merciful God, take him not out of this World, before he is fitted and prepared; that when he goes to meet the Bridegroom, he may not find the Door to everlasting Happiness fhut against him.

O Lord, with thee, nothing is impoffi ble; if thou wilt thou canst even yet raise

him up, and grant him a longer Continuance among us; but nevertheless, not our Will, but thine be done; we defire to leave him in thy Hands, and commend him to thy Mercies, and to the Love and Compaffion of the bleffed Jefus. O Lord, hear his Prayers, and the Prayers of all his Friends for him; fupport him in his dying Agonies; ftrengthen him under all his Weakneffes; vifit him with the strong Confolations of thy Holy Spirit, and receive him into the bleffed Society of Saints and Angels; there to love, praise, and adore thee for ever, through the Merits of thy beloved Son Jefus Chrift the Righteous. Amen.

Our Father, &c.

Ejaculations for fick and dying Perfons.

O BLESSED Lord, who fcourgest every Son whom thou receiveft; let me not be weary of thy Correction.

Give me fuch a perfect Submiffion to thee, the Father of Spirits, that this Chaftisement may be for my Profit, and that I may be thereby made a Partaker of thy Holinefs.

I confefs.

I confefs, O Lord, that I have deferved much greater Punishments than I now feel. O make me chearfully and thankfully to bear my present Pains; chaften me as thou feeft fitting; do with me what thou pleasest here, fo I may not be condemned with the World hereafter.

O Chrift, who first sufferedst many and grievous Things, and then enteredst into thy Glory; make me fo to fuffer with thee, that I may alfo be glorified with thee.

O Lord God moft holy, O Lord most mighty, O holy and moft merciful Saviour, deliver me not, I beseech thee, into the bitter Pains of eternal Death.

O caft not off the Bowels of thy tendereft Compaffions, but even as a Father pitieth his own Children, fo be thou merciful unto me thy finful, but repenting

Servant.

O bleffed High-Prieft, who art able to fave to the utmoft them who come unto God by thee, fave me, I befeech thee, who have no Hopes but in thy Merits and Interceffion.

Suffer not, O my Redeemer, my Soul, which thou haft purchafed with the invaluable Price of thy own Blood, to perish; but fay unto me, I am thy Salvation.

O dear

O dear Jefus, who humbleft thy felf even to the Death of the Crofs for me, let that precious Death of thine sweeten all the Bitternefs of mine.

I believe that thou fhalt come to be my Judge.

I pray thee, therefore, help thy Servant, whom thou haft redeemed with thy most precious Blood.

Make me to be numbered with thy Saints in Glory everlasting.

O receive me into that Place of Reft, where all Tears fhall be wiped from my Eyes; where there fhall be no more Death, nor Sorrow, nor Crying, nor Pain.

O take me, where I fhall for ever behold thy Face, and follow the Lamb whitherfoever he goeth.

Into thy Hands I commend my Spirit ; for thou haft redeemed me, O Lord, thou God of Truth.

O Lord, in thee is my Truft; O caft not out my Soul.

O Lord, in thee have I trufted, let me never be confounded.

A Prayer
