But thou, O Man of God, flee these Things, and follow after Righteousness, Godliness, Faith, Love, Patience, Meek'nefs. Charge them that are rich in this 'World, that they be not high-minded, nor truft in uncertain Riches, but in the' living God, who giveth us all Things richly to enjoy. That they do good; that they be rich in good Works; laying 6 up in Store for themselves a good Foundation against the Time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal Life, 1 Tim. • vi. 17, 18, 19.

What is your Life? It is a Vapour, that appeareth a little Time, and then ⚫ vanifheth away, James iv. 14.

Our rejoicing is this, the Testimony of our Confcience, that in Simplicity and godly Sincerity, by the Grace of God we have had our Converfation in the World, • 2 Cor. i. 12.

And herein do I exercife myself, to have always a Confcience void of Offence, towards God, and towards Men, As 'xxiv. 16.

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into Temptation. The Spirit indeed is willing, but the Flefh is weak, Matt. xxvi. 41.

God is faithful, who will not fuffer you to be tempted above what you are able; but will, with the Temptation, make a Way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it, I Cor. x. 13.

For though we walk in the Flesh, we ⚫ do not war after the Flesh: for the Wea6 pons of our Warfare are not carnal, but

mighty through God to the pulling down ⚫ of strong Holds: Cafting down Imaginations, and every high Thing that exalteth itself against the Knowledge of God, and bringing into Captivity every Thought to the Obedience of Chrift, 2 Cor. x. 3, 4, 5· Let your Loins be girded about, and your Lights burning; and ye yourselves like unto Men that wait for the Lord, Luke xii. 35.
