continually advancing towards an happy Eternity.

Give us honeft and upright Hearts, fuch as no Intereft can feduce, no Advantage prevail upon to depart from the Ways of Truth and Juftice; reftrain us from all immoderate Defires of the Things of this World, from all Pride and Covetousness, from Envy, Hatred, and Malice, and from all Evil-speaking, Lying, and Slandering.

O be Thou pleased so to conduct us by thy good Spirit through all the Bufineffes and Employments, through all the Calamities and Troubles of this Life, that (whatever our Condition may be in this World) we may attain that Happiness which Thou haft prepared for them that truly love and obey Thee.

We befeech Thee to extend thy Mercy to the whole Race of Mankind; make the Light of thy Gospel to fhine among them; and deliver us from all Ignorance, Error, and Profaneness, and grant us Grace and Eternal Life.

Be gracious to this Church and Nation to which we belong; give us all Grace ferioufly to repent of the Evil of our Ways, and grant that Religion and Virtue, Peace and

and Charity, may for ever flourish and in

crease among us.

Blefs our Sovereign Lord King GEORge, and all in Authority under Him, both in Church and State. May all their Designs tend to the Advancement of thy Glory, and the Happiness and Profperity of these Kingdoms !

Look with Pity and Compaffion, O Lord, upon all in Affliction and Tempta-tion; ftrengthen and fupport them; and give them in thy good Time a happy Deliverance.

Be merciful, O God, to all our Relations, Friends and Acquaintance; forgive our Enemies, reward our Benefactors, and grant that we and all thy People every where may ferve Thee, from the highest to the loweft, and be made Partakers of everlafting Happinefs.

To these our Prayers and Interceffions, we defire to add the Sacrifice of our unfeigned Praises to thy Divine Majefty, acknowledging it to be our bounden Duty, and Service, at all Times, and in all Places, to give Thanks unto Thee to whose infinite Goodness and Mercy we owe all the Comforts of this Life, and all the Hopes and Expectations of a better.

Bleffed

Bleffed be thy Name, O God, for the Continuance of thy Mercies to us this Day; for providing for our Bodies, and taking Care of our Souls; and for delivering us from thofe many Evils that we have justly deferved; but above all, we blefs and praife thy holy Name, for thine ineftimable Love in the Redemption of the World by our Lord and Saviour Jefus Chrift; humbly befeeching Thee of thy great Goodnefs, O Lord, to pass by our Unworthiness of thefe thy Mercies, and to continue to us thy gracious Favour and Protection; keep us, we befeech Thee, this Night, under the Shadow of thy Wings, that no evil Accident may come near to

hurt us. Give us quiet and refreshing Sleep, fuch as may fit us for the Duties of the Day following; and if Thou art pleased to add another Day to our Lives, grant that we may improve it to thy Glory, and the Benefit of our precious Souls; through Jefus Chrift, our bleffed Lord and only Saviour. Amen.

A Preparatory Prayer. LESSED Lord! who haft commanded, and invited us to pray unto thee, O let thy Spirit help my Infirmities; and do thou fo difpofe my Mind, and prepare my Heart, that my Prayers and Praifes may be acceptable in thy Sight, through the Mediation, and for the Sake of Jefus Chrift. Amen.

A Prayer for Sunday Morning.

O GOD, who art the Giver of all good Gifts, and the Father of Mercies, I thine unworthy Servant adore thy glorious Majefty, for those marvellous Inftances of thy Love, which Thou haft in all Ages

fhewn

fhewn to the Sons of Men: In all thy Dealings and Difpenfations towards us Thou haft manifefted thyfelf to be a moft kind and compaffionate Father; thou haft provided for the Comfort and Support of our Bodies, and fhewn a moft tender Care and Concern for the Welfare and Happiness of our immortal Souls: In great Mercy to them, thou didft appoint one Day in seven for thy more peculiar Worship and Service: that fo by a frequent and religious Obfervance of the Chriftian Sabbath here on Earth, we might be better fitted and prepared to celebrate that eternal Sabbath of everlafting Reft, which thou haft reserved for us hereafter.

For this, O Lord, and all the other Teftimonies of thy Love, which thou haft shewn to me, and all Mankind, I defire with an humble and thankful Heart to blefs and praise thy holy Name; and more efpecially for that inexpreffible Inftance of thy Love, the fending thy Son Christ Jesus into the World, to be the Propitiation for

our Sins.

I bless thee, O Lord, for thy great Goodness in preserving me the Night paft from all Perils and Dangers, and bringing me in Health and Safety to the Beginning of this holy Day.
