oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.".--Zech. vii.---viii.
Jesus said, “ I am the vine; ye are the branches : he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing.” “ This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." “ Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friend.” “ Ye are my friends, if
ye do whatsoever I command you."---John xv.
LET US PRAISE Gon.
( Deus Misereatur.)
Psalm 67. God be merciful unto us and bless us: and shew us the light of his countenance, and be merciful unto us.
That thy way may be known upon earth: thy saving health among all nations.
Let the people praise thee, O God; yea, let all the people praise thee.
O let the nations rejoice and be glad: for thou shalt judge the folk righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.
Let the people praise thee, O God';:yea, let all the people praise thee.
Then shall the earth bring forth her increase, and God, even our own God, shall give us his blessing.
God shall bless us : and all the ends of the world shall fear him.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Let US PRAY.
Almighty and most merciful Father; we have erred and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own bearts. We have offended against thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; and we have done those things which we ought not to have done ; and there is no health in us. But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare thou them, O God, which confess their faults. Restore thou them that are penitent: According to thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesu our Lord. And grant O most merciful Father for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to the glory of thy holy name. Amen.
O God, whose nature and property is ever to have mercy and to forgive, receive our humble petitions; and though we be tied and bound with the chain of our sins, yet let the pitifulness of thy great mercy loose us, for the honour of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Advocate. Amen.
Let us pray,
Our Father which art in heaven; hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses; as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation ; but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
(For the Day.)
(For Peace.) O God, from whom all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works do proceed ; Give unto thy servants that peace which the world cannot give, that both our hearts may be set to obey thy commandments, and also that by thee we being defended from the fear of our enemies, may pass our time in rest and quietness, through the merits of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.
(For aid against all Perils.)
Lighten our darkness we beseech thee, O Lord, and by thy great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of this night, for the love of thy only Son our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we thine unworthy servants do give thee most humble and hearty thanks for all thy goodness and loving-kindness to us, and to all men. We bless thee for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life, but above all for thine inestimable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And we beseech thee, give us that due sense of all thy mercies, that our hearts may be unfeignedly thankful; and that we may shew forth thy praise not only with our lips but in our lives; by giving up ourselves to thy service, and by walking before thee in holiness and righteousness all our days, through Jesus Christ our Lord; to whon with thee and the Holy Ghost be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.
The Apostles' Creed.
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth ; and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried ; He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost: the holy Catholic church; the communion of saints ; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
The Ten Commandments.
God spake these words and said, I am the Lord thy God: thou shalt have none other Gods but
Thou shalt not make to thyself any graven image,
