Our British Ancestors: Who and What Were They

The history of the ancient Britons is in every way so obscure, that each attempt to rescue any portion of its traditions, and to give confirmation to the conjectures or the ascertained facts of previous investigators must be acceptable, one would presume, to the inquirer after historical truth. This work is an inquiry serving to elucidate the traditional history of the early Britons, by means of recent excavations, etymology, remnants of religious worship, inscriptions, craniology, and fragmentary collateral history.
