And I saw,

four beasts, saying, Come and see. behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer." (Rev. vi. 1, 2.) In agreement with Isaiah's prophecy, the Lord goeth forth" as a mighty man." His position, his conquering power, and the crown that was given unto him, identify the rider under the first seal with that victorious rider, who is called " Faithful and True:"-whose name is called The Word of God," and who "hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."

The rider upon the white horse may therefore be identical with the Lamb that was slain, for the Lamb is Lord of lords and King of kings. (See Rev. xvii. 14, and xix. 11-16.) He may therefore be Zion's King, whose "bow" shall be "filled with Ephraim;" and the crown that was given unto him may symbolize his right, and also the acknowledgment of his right, to sit upon the throne of David, and to reign over the house of Jacob for ever. Upon his head, the crown shall flourish; and in his hand, his people shall be of glory;" they shall be " a royal diadem in the hand of their God: 66 they shall be as the stones of a crown lifted up as an ensign upon his land.”

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel, and to the house of Judah. (See Jer. xxxi. 31.)

In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lord our righteousness. For thus saith the Lord; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel." (Jer. xxxiii. 14—17.)

“The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for

evermore.

"For the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread. I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed. His enemies will I clothe with shame, but upon himself shall his crown flourish." (Ps. cxxxii. 11-18.)

"David, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; he seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in

hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up. For David is not ascended into the heavens but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

"The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. Therefore," said the apostle of the circumcision, "let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, both Lord and Christ." (See Acts. ii. 29-36, and Ps. cx.)

Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and

justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved,

and Israel shall dwell safely and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS."

"Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty. And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

"Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre." (Ps. xlv. 3-6.) "Unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

"And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands they shall perish; but thou remainest ; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; and as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail." (Heb. i. 8-12.)

They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations. He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that

water the earth. In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth. He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him ; and his enemies shall lick the dust.

"The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. Yea, all kings shall fall down before him all nations shall serve him. For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy. He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight."

(Behold he liveth and was dead and is alive for evermore. See Rev. i. 18.) "And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised. (See Rev. v. 8-14.)

"There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

"His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun and men shall be blessed in him all nations shall call him blessed. Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who only doeth
