I was alfo defirous of availing myself of the illuftrious name of a Sovereign eminently distinguished by his munificence in promoting useful knowledge, and by his folicitude for the happiness and profperity of his fubjects, to recommend the important objects I have undertaken to inveftigate, to the attention of the Great,-the Wife, and the Benevolent.
