Deut. iv. 35, 39, Unto thee it was showed, that thou mightest know that the Lord' he is God; there is none else beside him. Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above', and upon the earth beneath`: there is none else; vi. 4, Hear', O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord. Isa. xliv. 6, Thus saith the Lord' the King of Israel', and his Redeemer' the Lord of hosts; I am the first', and I am the last and besides me' there is no God; xlv. 5, I am the Lord,' and there is none else', there is no God' besides me: 21, There is no God else besides me'; a just God' and a Saviour: there is none besides me'. 1 Cor. viii. 4, We know that an idol' is nothing in the world`, and that there is none other God' but one'. 1 Tim. ii. 5, There is one God', and one Mediator between God' and men, the man' Christ Jesus'.

IV. THAT THERE ARE THREE PERSONS IN THE GOD.

HEAD.

Gen. i. 26, And God said, Let us make man in our image', after our likeness'; and let them have dominion over the fish' of the sea', and over the fowl' of the air', and over the cattle, and over all the earth', and over every creeping thing that creepeth

upon the earth'. Ps. xxxiii. 6, By the word of the Lord' were the heavens made'; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. Isa. xlviii. 16, Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning'; from the time that it was', there am I and now the Lord God, and his Spirit hath sent me`. Isa. lxiii. 9, 10, In all their affliction' he was afflicted`, and the angel of his presence saved them': in his love and in his pity' he redeemed them`; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old`. But they rebelled', and vexed his Holy Spirit; compare with Gen. xxiii. 11, 12, The angel of the Lord said unto Abraham', now I know that thou fearest God', seeing thou hast not withheld thy son', thine only son from me`.

1. The Father is God.-John iv. 23, The hour cometh and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth': for the Father seeketh such' to worship him`. John x. 29, My Father which gave them me' is greater than all`; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 1 Cor. viii. 6, To us there is but one God', the Father, of whom are all things', and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things', and we by him`.

2. The Son is God.-Jer. xvii. 10, I the Lord search the heart', I try the reins', even to give every man according to his ways', and according to the fruit of his doings`; compare with Rev. ii. 23, All

the churches shall know that I (Jesus) am he which searcheth the reins' and heart and I will give unto every one of you' according to your works`. Rom. ix. 5, Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh', Christ came', who is over all, God' blessed for ever`. Amen. 1 John v. 20, And we know that the Son of God is come', and hath given us an understanding', that we may know him that is true; and we are in him that is true', even in his Son' Jesus Christ'. This is the true God' and eter

nal life'.

3. The Holy Ghost is God.-Acts v. 3, 4, Peter said, Ananias', why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost`. Thou has not lied unto men' but unto God. Heb. ix. 14, Christ, through the eternal Spirit' offered himself without spot to God'.

4. That all these are God.-Matth. xxviii. 19, Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations', baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son', and of the Holy Ghost. 2 Cor. xiii. 14, The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost', be with you all. Amen'.

V. OF DIVINE REVELATION AND ITS CONSEQUENCES TO THOSE WHO RECEIVE IT AND TO THOSE WHO REJECT IT.

Job xxii. 22, Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth', and lay up his words in thine heart`. Ps. xii. 6, The words of the Lord are pure words': as silver tried in a furnace of earth', purified seven times; xix. 7-11, The law of the Lord is perfect', converting the soul': the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the Lord are right', rejoicing the heart`: the commandment of the Lord is pure', enlightening the eyes': the fear of the Lord is clean', enduring for ever` : the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold', yea, than much fine gold`; sweeter also than honey', and the honey comb`. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them' there is great reward. Ps. cxix. 1, Blessed are the undefiled in the way', who walk in the law of the Lord'. 9, Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way` ? By taking heed thereto' according to thy word`. 11, Thy word have I hid in mine heart', that I might not sin against thee'. 45, I will walk' at liberty`. for I seek' thy precepts`. 49, 50, Remember the word unto thy servant', upon which thou caused me to hope. This is my comfort' in my affliction': for thy word hath quickened me. 72, The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold

and silver. 92, 93, Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction`; I will never forget thy precepts: for with them' thou hast quickened me`. 99, I have more understanding' than all my teachers`: for thy testimonies, are my meditation'. 103, How sweet are thy words' unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey' to my mouth! 104, Through thy precepts' I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. 105, Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path'. 138, Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous' and very faithful'. 142, Thy righteousness' is an everlasting righteousness', and thy law' is the truth'. 155, Salvation is far from the the wicked': for they seek not thy statutes'. 160, Thy word is true from the beginning and every one of thy righteous judgments' endureth for ever. Prov. xiii. 13, Whoso despiseth the word' shall be destroyed`: but he that feareth the commandment' shall be rewarded. Prov. xxx. 5, Every word of God is pure`; he is a shield unto them' that put their trust in him. Isa. viii. 20, To the law' and to the testimony': if they speak not according to this word', it is because there is no light in them. John v. 39, Search the Scriptures'; for in them' ye think ye have eternal life': and they are they' which testify of me. John xii. 48, He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words', hath one that judgeth him`; the word that I have spoken', the same shall judge him in the last day'. Acts xvii. 11, These were more noble than those in Thessalonica',
