a I wrote unto you (faith St. Paul) not to company with Fornicators: yet, not altogether with the Fornicators of this. World, or with the Covetous, or Extortioners, or with Idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the World: But I have written unto you, not to keep company, if any Man that is called a Brother be a Fornicator, or Covetous, or an Idolater, or a Railer, or a Drunkard, or an Extortioner; with fuch a one, no not to eat.

b Withdraw your felves from every Brother that walketh diforderly, and not after the Tradition which he received of us.

CHAP. IX.

Concerning the PERFECTION

of HOLINESS.

The Perfection of a Chriftian confifts in using his utmoft Endeavours to perform, with Sincerity and Zeal, the whole Will of God; to grow in Grace, and excel in all manner of Virtue; and to perfevere in the Ways of Piety and Holiness, to the End of his Life.

UNIVERSAL OBEDIENCE.

Bhor that which is Evil; cleave to that which is good. Cleanfe your felves from all Filthiness both of Flesh and Spirit, perfecting Holiness in the Fear of God.

Lay apart all Filthinefs, and Superfluity of Naughtiness: And, keep your felves unspotted from the World.

c Whatever is an Abomination to the Lord thy God thou shalt utterly deteft, and thou shalt utterly abhor it: For it is a cursed thing.
