Sir John Vanbrugh, Surveyer, at 200 1. per Annum Salary, with Lodgings.

Mr. Nicholas Hawkfmore, Clerk of the Works, at 5 s. per Diem, with Lodgings and Table-Money, and 50 1. per Annum for aflifting the Surveyor in Defigning and Drawing

Mr. John James, his Affistant Clerk of the Works, at 3 s. 4 d. per Diem.

Labourers and Watchmen thereabouts, are more or lefs, as the Occafions of the Building require.

Penfioners in the Houfe are entertain'd 500, amongst which are 16 Boatfwains, fo call'd, and 36 Boatswain's Mates, who have been formerly Warrant-Officers: The former are diftinguish'd by Gold-lac'd Coats and Hats, having 2 s. 6d. per Week Spending-Money allow'd them; the other by Edg'dHats only, at 18 d. per Week. The Penfioners have all 2 d. per Week paid ever Monday by the Steward, over and above their Cloathing, Lodging and Diet, very good and fufficient,. agreeable to that of Chelsea.

Hurles, are 30, at the Rate of 6 to each 100 Men, who have 8 1. per Annum a-piece, with Cloaths and the House Diet; thofe who attend in the Infirmary, 2 s. more, all Widdows of Seafaring Perfons.

Boys, there are Cloath'd 20 already, not with the House Allowance, but the Monies given for feeing the Houfe, what is fav'd by the Penfioners Cheques of Provifions and Mulets of their Allowance Money, and fo order'd to be apply'd by the Care of Admiral Aylmer the Governor: They are taught the Mathematicks at prefent, and are to have a Catechetical Lecture for them every Lord's Day in the Afternoon, so soon as the Parish-Church fhall be fitted up for the Parishioners, which is expected foon.
